I'm replaying DD right now and it really seems like the only reason Blackquill loses is genuinely because he got shafted with the cases he took, he has his opponents on the ropes all the time even though he's on the wrong side.

Edgeworth would forge evidence left and right. That much wasn't clear in the game because you can't really understand sarcasm there, but it's painfully obvious in the anime when he presents the "updated autopsy report" to Phoenix.
I really don't know why people think that someone who was brainwashed by Manfred von Karma by several years wouldn't forge evidence. Phoenix is the one who changed that and Miles says that very thing several times.

In rise from the Ashes it highlighted that he was given falsified evidence during a case, so he had forged evidence but it wasn't his fault. Despite this the rumour of him forging evidence follows him around and he has taken responsibility for it.
Ever since then he's just been a bit of a cunt who is slimy. The updated report thing wasn't forged evidence, it was concealed, which, like I said, is technically allowed. Nothing stopped Phoenix from asking for an updated autopsy, he went with the first one while Edgeworth followed up.
What he learned that he should be searching for the truth, not for the win. It doesn't mean he forged evidence to win.

Case 5 suggests that Edgeworth was given falsified evidence by his superiors to use in court in the Darke trial, but at the time he didn't know it was falsified. Edgeworth laments later that even though it was not he himself that forged the evidence, he still believed that he was at fault for not looking into the evidence more thoroughly. The game seems to suggest that this only actually happened once, but that the power of gossip turned a one-time event into a career pattern for the young prosecutor.

For AAI2 Capcom said the timetable just didn't work out for an English release. By the time they wanted to localize it. the development team had already disbanded and it would've been a very late release (2012) for the DS if they decided to press on. Not to mention AAI didn't sell all that well overseas so that probably contributed.
For DGS, I have no fucking clue why they haven't localized it. Even the localization director for the series doesn't know. They probably think since the game doesn't have "Phoenix Wright" in its title it won't sell overseas or some bullshit.

Episode 5 actually did something that the adaption should be used for, that is giving us more (instead of cutting stuff all the time). I enjoyed getting to see a part of an actual Steel Samurai episode. A small thing, but still pretty nice.
