plays a little bit like ME1 but a better plot.
Don't worry too much about building an ideal character. I have Korriban left, and my LS Consular doesn't even get into fights properly, I can just use Force Lighting a couple of times and it's over.
Do Nar Shadda ->Dantooine -> Onderron -> Korriban if male, Dantooine -> Nar Shadda -> Onderron -> Korriban if female.
Doesn't matter much either, but feels more natural.
Get the restored content mod.

As far as feats go, go for dual wield and flurry, and for jedi powers, go for master speed. If you make a sentinel, get finesse as well. Most enemies won't be able to hit you, while you hit them 6 times.
One more thing for dual wield: use two swords (a short and long one) instead of double blade. Two sword means you get more bonuses after lightsabers.

have fun with it, there's no need to min max or have an 'optimum' build. all you need to decide is if you like having more force powers or more lightsaber skills and roll with it. play it through on light and dark side and have fun.
only mod you really need is tslrcm and if you like you can add more some more robes and saber hilts.

Good story, great character interaction, take the time to try and get to know every one of your party members including taking them along on planets. Pay attention to everything that's said and feel free to replay the game multiple times to see all the possibilities.

I've been playing with a mod that will allow you to pick up the Handmaiden as a woman. It's pretty neat. If I tune out all male pronouns (which only pop up in cutscenes that change due to picking up the Handmaiden), I can imagine that FemExile is in lesbians with herand was in lesbians with Atris.
The mod also allows you to pick up the Disciple as a male Exile, but I don't know why you'd do that. Having seen him from a previous female playthrough, he's dull as dishwater and is the Handmaiden's inferior in every way.

Good taste, anon, that's my ideal playthrough. I much prefer femExile in general, but especially her interactions with Visas, Atris and Handmaiden are a lot more understated than the obvious sexual tension the male Exile sometime gets.
Disciple's not a /bad/ character, he's interesting, he's just far less interesting than his counterpart in Handmaiden. Doesn't help that even though he has some interesting conversations/events, he doesn't have very many of them.

It's trying to simulate a pen & paper game in real time, so understandably the battle system is absolute shite. It's not really real time, no. There are 'rounds' and battle participants can attack a certain amount of time per round, or at least that's how it should go but rounds are actually treated as per-character cooldowns in Bioware engine games. My favourite part of the whole system is that you have no control over your characters, just give them orders and pray that they decide to follow them (they don't).

Dunno, Ienjoyshows like rebels and clone wars, those are supposed to be canon and connect the movies time gaps, and recently Rebels involved Korriban in their plot to expose more sith knowledge and lore, but they changed the planet name in the show even though it was obviously the same temple that was in the game, and it seems they also changed some things about the Mandalorian war. Flurry is good on non Jedi characters who are stuck at melee. Most of them tend to get ridiculously good strength boosting armors to compensate so hitting the enemy 1 extra time tends to be more valueable then. Flurry isn't bad if you are a high strength jedi either. Dex build Jedis tend to prefer Power Attack where as Strength build Jedis prefer Flurry/Critical Strike.
One thing that does hurt Power Attack is the accuracy loss especially with dual wield - you can suffer a -5 attack penalty combining the two EVEN at Master Dual Wielding which is basically a -25% chance to even hit the enemy you target. In comparison to Master Flurry and Master Critical strike which is a -1attack/-1defense and just pure -5 defense on Crit it's actually pretty significant in how it negatively affects your fighting ability. Defense loss seems bad but it's actually pretty harmless.
What I would say is the greater meme is actually dual wielding. Duelist tends to be better on Jedi (cause Force Speed only works off the main hand weapon anyway for the two extra attacks - so it pays to just have one really accurate incredibly strong single weapon over less accurate and shittier dualies) whilst dual wielding is more of a high strength/high attack non Jedi sort of thing to compensate for lack of Master Force Speed. Dual Wielding tends to give you a massive penalty to attack early on so it should be mostly reserved for Soldiers/Jedi Guardians/Wookies who have naturally high attack (+20 vs all regular classes getting +15). Wookies are scouts but have such massive strength stats (20 strength means +5 Strength modifier - meaning +5 attack to class innate +15) they might as well be Soldiers when it comes to hitting their enemies but tend to be a little less accurate than Soldiers at endgame with proper speccing.
Also the weapon mastery perks aren't bad. +2 damage is great early on and stacks with feats like dual wielding, critical strike, and flurry.

Last time I played it there was an annoying fucking bug where when you tried to loot something your character would get stuck and the only way to unstick yourself half the time was to save your game and reload.
