I picked it up on release and have had a blast with it the whole time.
it's actually pretty funand the english dub is pretty great too.

My biggest issue with this game is that if you're going for the lovey dovey trophy.... you have to have EVERYTHING on the same save.
Meaning you can't see one ending, reload back to a previous save, die on purpose, then move to next overlord and see that ending. then repeat. You have to get the clear save with that overload, then start new game. No reloading to previous save and dying if you'll go back before you beat it with that overlord.
Aside from that... my first time through this game was really really good. Shit was dark as fuck... each time a overlord dies.. it really fucking hurts because every one of them is waifu tier girl...

first of all, you can gift the overlords 3 items per day (you get 1 token for every passing day and 1 token = 1 random present you buy)
then you have random events that pop up with the overlord you are currently training. some are random and can be triggered with every overlord and most of the time involve a multiple choice with variying results.
then you have overlord specific events where they talk about their life, their worries or their past, etc.
every overlord has 2 CG's dedicated to these events and these events give you quite the bonus to you relationship points (wich are used as a replacement for hp/mp until they run out)

I absolutely love the game, but honestly there's not much to say about it - once you know the strategy to beat trillion and/or snap the balance of the game in half there's nothing really to discuss.

Yep. Because if you reload from before you beat trillion... that save will think you didn't beat him yet with that overlord. Everything has to be on the same save for that trophy.

onec you clear the game, you can make a clear save and loading it will put you in new game+.
you have to unlock every ending on one savefile to get a certain trophy.
in total (not including challege mode) you have to clear the game 10 times.
new game+ lets you keep all items in your inventory and a lot of the EXP from the previous playthrough.
