Why aren't there any futuristic open world games?
It's always modern day, fantasy, or historical setting.

best thing that came out of this shit were the anime character deaths, battles, etc. edits. Fuck, they make me laugh so hard.
>>
>>336212259
How is it not ?
>>
>>336203614
I don't mind WatchMojo's stuff, but I don't feel like sitting through one right now. GOAT open world game map is in Xenoblade X. San Andreas is probably second best, then maybe Witcher 3.
>>
>>336214831
Both those were in except for San Andreas

But it balances out because they also put pure garbage in like fallout 4 and assassins Creed syndicate
>>
>>336215082
I don't know shit about AssCreed but isn't the pirate one supposed to be the best? I figured that would have the most interesting and varied world out of them. Including Fallout 4 is laughable.

i dont get it

>>336215206
4 and all the previous games excluding 3 are great. They include some pretty nice historical representations of cities (not fully accurate, of course)

The one they listed is the latest one, which is just a bland boring shitty-looking map full of copy paste buildings.

>watchmojo
>>
>>336215939
It's impressive that some shitty mainstream youtube "top 10" clickbait channel acknowledged it
>>
>>336216093
Ah, gotcha. I didn't actually watch the stupid video
>>
>>336215939
The landscape of Morrowind makes no fucking sense. What the fuck did everybody eat? There didn't seem to be any farmland to grow things. Did people just eat mushrooms and those shitty sky lizards?
>>
>>336216273
Probably a large diet of fish as well.

Could also just have to rely a lot of shipments from the mainland to stay alive as well considering everything's going blighted when you are there.
>>
>>336216093
How the fuck is watchmojo "clickbait"?
>>
>>336216462
It's been awhile since I've played, but why did people live there at all. Did they have any kind of economy, or am I looking too deep at this?
>>
>>336216273
there were farms around vivec/pelagiad but maybe tech wasn't good enough to show the true extent of farming in those areas. who knows, i'm not a lorefag but that's what i've gathered

also what this anon says>>336216462
and guars/rats/netch/nixhounds etc shit that lives in the grazelands.
>>
>>336216273

>there didn't see any farmland

There were plantations all over the Ascadian Isles you dumb n'wah. Coastal towns fish. Everyone eats scuttle and kwama eggs.
>>
>>336216537
It was the Dunmer homeland, and it's pretty holy to them.

Other than that it doesn't seem to have much value to the other groups, which probably explains why the Imperial forts there are full of grumpy jackasses.
>>
>>336216516
Gotta use them buzzwords.

>>
>no Shenmue

watchmojo fucking sucks
>>
>>336214332

It's seperate individual areas. Not an entire open-world.
>>
>>336216868
Clickbait is something like "You'll never believe what faggot anon said next" as a link to an article. They leave out important info and write provocative headlines just to get you to click on the link.
>>
>>336216093
it's one of the better clickbait channels out there honestly
>>
>>336203614
>Actually watching Watchmojo
>Revealing to anyone that you do
>>
>>336217167
And "mammoth sex, homemade black holes and human goats" isn't provocative bullshit for clicks at all, right?
>>

No it's a summary of the episode.
>>
>>336217148
The only loading screens are when travelling to an entirely new continent

I'd say that's open world
>>
>>336217167
watchmojo is a highly evolved adnanced ad.
>>
>>336203614

I hope Black Desert is on there, cause it's fucking huge yet feels more alive than any other game, and it's super comfy.

There's quite a bit on that topic in the game, actually. If you talked to the NPCs and explored you'd learn a lot about their agriculture. There's plenty of farms and plantations growing saltrice and vegetables in the Ascadian Isles, and egg mines all over the island to collect kwama eggs and scrib jelly/jerky. They also harvest scuttle from bug ranches and they slaughter nix-hounds for their meat. Just go to any town and raid the houses to see what they have inside their crates. You'll find that saltrice, kwama eggs, and scuttle are the most common foods in households.

Some snippets from the game dialogue:
>The most popular sources of protein are kwama eggs and the meat of the domesticated guar. The most popular beverages are mazte (a local beer brewed from fermented saltrice) and sujamma (a potent, bitter liquor).
>The staple is the saltrice grain, usually eaten as a cooked porridge mixed with scuttle (a cheese-like food from giant domesticated beetles). Hackle-lo (a hardy succulent edible leafy green) is a reliable year-round vegetable, eaten cooked or raw, and bittergreen (a fast-growing slime triggered by rain) is safe and nourishing when boiled, though highly toxic if eaten raw.
>Kwama eggs are a rich, nutritious foodstuff with modest magical properties. Popular throughout the Empire, kwama eggs stay fresh for a long time, and kwama mining is a profitable industry on Vvardenfell.
>Saltrice is another of the tasty and nutritious foodstuffs with modest magical properties raised as export crops by Morrowind's farmers and plantation owners. Most saltrice seen in the Empire comes from southeastern Morrowind, but there are also some new and prospering farms and plantations in the Ascadian Isles. Saltrice also grows wild in the Grazelands and on Azura's Coast.
