Wolf3D guy here; I never said I beat W3D, I just said it was my first game and I played it on BEO! because that's what my dad played on. From what I can remember of the vague and repeatable levels, I probably only made it past episode 2, hell no I didn't beat that game cause I was like fucking four. I probably spent more time lost trying to find a key than I did progressing.
However, now that I love classic FPS games like Doom, Duke, and Heretic, I only ever play on the Ultra-Violence equivalent difficulty and usually try to UV-Max all the levels. And don't meme to me about Nightmare difficulty.

I know this will get hated on. But I don't care for the dark souls mechanics and difficulty, but I do like the graphics and killing monsters. A mod to make it easier would be nice. If they were along the lines of a more difficult version of Skyrim, I'd probably buy and play all three. I don't have the time or patience to die repeatedly and retracing steps and learning enemy moves for every section of the game. So alas, it's not for me.

Being able to beat a game when I first started playing was not something you could take for granted, kid or otherwise. I still enjoyed games even though I did not finish many of them. When I go back and play old games, I'm surprised how well I was able to do as a kid since they are still hard. weapons are also babied, knife is a rattle with fun lights and noises, various guns are just water gun variants with that cheapo plastic looks.
no gore at all, not even blood because babies can't handle the sight of that bad stuff.
also, the game ends 25% of the way in because babies can't complete REAL games. try again on the hardest difficulty because that is all there will be.
