Shamans in arena are a meme. The popularity skyrocketed because everyone and their mum thought "Ill just draft a bunch of these OP 7/7 lol" but they forgot that overall shaman still sucks.
You see a lot of these failed shamans below 3ish wins, but as you go into the higher win areas, shamans are all but gone. Mage, paladin and rogue are still king of arena.

Alex for Freeze Mage.
Staghelm is awesome, but the currently dominant druid deck is C'thun, which doesn't run Staghelm because Choice cards don't really matter.
Cenarius is not run in any current druid decks.
Grom for C'thun or Control Warrior.
N'zoth for Deathrattle Paladin or Rogue. Hunter also somewhat possible, but less good.
Sadly no way to even try these out before spending a whole shitload of dust.

I've played in several GPs and a modern pro tour (RIP) and I can confidently say that Hearthstone's skill cap isn't that much lower that MTGs. People like MrYagut and Firebat consistently reach 70+ WR in high legend and most people can't even reach the 60s in the casual lobby on modo for standard.
Land screw/flood accounts for like a quarter of my losses.

I have a t1 warrior control deck and i've only spent $10 in total on this game. I've been playing since February.

If it's OP, it's only because of the tempo potential. If it gets answered immediately, and you already had board control, the Shaman basically instantly loses.
Im not sure if I like or dislike this list. It feels like the early game is really tough, but if i can push back until like turn 5 I normally can stabilize. Any thoughts on improving a miracle deck?

I don't even know if there is a decent Rogue deck yet. There's some good rogue cards with this expansion, but the 2 main archetypes that people theorycrafted, C'thun and N'zoth rogues, get completely overshadowed by other classes. Wait a bit, see how the decks develop, then decide.

Discount 2 cards with Emperor and you've got a certain kill. Board control and just damaging Face over time means you can drop combo pieces to do other things/stay alive. Darkshire Alchemist can also be used to deal damage, 2 Auchenai, Justicar Trueheart etc.
Priest Card draw shenanigans make it easy to draw into combo. Justicar, Darkshire Alchemist etc. make surviving til 10 easy enough. There's been some people making a C'thun variant to use Darkmender to have 50 health, but it's not as effective.

I've won more matches with a desperate Yogg than a desperate C'Thun. Honestly Yogg is pretty ok about turning completely losses into possible wins. If you run a decent amount of spells he isn't a terrible 10 drop if you lost the board completely. Idk if it's luck, but it seems to about 60% of the time favor me than the enemy.
Also it can be completely hilarious at times.

Felreaver is great in Arena. If usually wins the game long before you start to fatigue just from his raw stats. Even if they get rid of him they have to use something expensive(lol SW:death) or put in unfavorable trades. The only time felreave would fuck over the summoner would be if you played against someone with tons of cheap spells.

Aggro decks want to win by about T7, if they discard your deck by then and are not dead it doesn't matter because the aggro deck already lost anyway 99% of the time.

Eh I imagine almost everyone who plays Yogg in Tempo Mage right now plays him because he's good and fun. Tempo mage runs out of steam extremely quickly. If you make it to turn ten and they have a strong board and you still haven't gotten their health low, no card like Antonidas will save you. Yogg, on the other hand, has a potential to save you.
For a single slot in your deck you have a wildcard card that can potentially save you in an otherwise unwinnable situation. Given the large number of secrets and spells that specifically target enemies, more often than not Yogg should give you advantage so long as he's the only minion on your side.
I'm sure there are people who play him for shits and giggles, but just like Spellslinger he actually has a place in competitive play.

Control seems to be popular. He has a lot of means of keeping himself alive for an extending duration of time and the new divine shield cards seem really good for trading and putting pressure on the board. It's easy to run Reno with him now too and the new Ragnaros seems like an auto include in all Paladin decks alongside Tirion.

I really hate innervate. People have tried to argue it is a balanced card due to it removing cards in your hand, but I think that's complete bullshit. It's just way too good for what it does and it only makes him even more obnoxious right now in C'Thun decks.
Been playing since the official launch, still can't get past rank 18. I do my daily's and run the arena all the time but still have no luck or sense for strategy.
