Looking back, he isn't very hard. But this was my first experience with an rpg and I was only 8 or 9 when it came out. I didn't know you could switch characters additions, so I was using basic attacks between dragoon transformations. Took me a long fuckin time.
Valvalis or whatever her name is on FF4 SNES. Easy as shit for me now but back then i always forgot to equip Rosa beforehand.
The Magus sisters were shitty too, but now that I know how tounderflow Tellah's MP to cast Meteoit's a piece of cake now.

I did beat him eventually but he seriously scared me as a kid. The fight is just so intense. Getting overrun/crushed is a primal fear. Missing a shot made me panic and then I fucked up even harder.

The Venom Star Wolf fight is the only one in the entire game where knowing how to barrel roll and making sharp turns (holding Z/R when turning) was absolutely mandatory otherwise they were always behind you.
Gave you some respect for the Star Wolf team though having just blown through the entire Venom Defence fleet in the previous mission with ease

Most of the time. Against Star Wolf, though, they just take the aggro off of a Star Wold member. If Pigma can't target Peppy, then he'll be on your ass the whole time, and shaking 2-3 members of Star Wolf doesn't make things easy.
