We don't need 4 major console manufacturers. Maybe if Nintendo bows out there will be room for Sega to make a return, but really, with the way things are now, even two consoles seems unnecessary. We could very likely be looking at a Playstation-only console industry within the next few years. Microsoft is already pushing most of their games to PC and seem to be moving away from the idea of Xbox as a standard console platform. Nintendo is pretty much gearing up for its last shot as a hardware manufacturer; if the NX isn't well received and they end up with two big console flops in a row, it's going to be very difficult for them to convince their investors that they should keep producing their own consoles rather than simply making their games available on other platforms. In this kind of industry climate, Sega trying to make a comeback just can't happen.

Hell no. I had the Dreamcast and only bought 5 games for it, with only Crazy Taxi being 1st party. Wii U is 12 games and counting with Bayo 1 and 2 being the only third party games I have. Dreamcast was shit and its weird it even sold over a million. Wii U is better than Wii, but hey, the entertainment business goes in weird sales cycles, so meh.
