Nah Bravely the core plans for the plots come from the producer anyways, what changes is who executes it. Default they got the Steins;Gate writer and for Second they had a team of various SE writers exactly because people complained about things with Default's plot.
Fates is like the inverse of that, because people complained about the writing in Awakening which IntSys handled, so they hired a proper writer to do the story in Fates. Then for some reason they decided to ditch pretty much everything he did and do it themselves even though that goes against the entire reason they even fucking got a proper writer.

Actually apparently there's Team A and Team B. They had a bit of a split when it came to the amie minigame. But as far as I know they all worked on both versions. However there is confirmation they had different people work on the supports and the main story, which is why some characters seem off in the supports

I'm not a fan of supports how they are now either. Especially the MU-sexuals. I give more of a pass to it in Awakening due to the nature of the characters that are Robinsexual, except in Emmeryn's case because there's really no reason that she can't support her siblings and their interactions have to be regulated to DLC. But in case of characters like Reina/Yuugiri, who comes in fairly early in Birthright and Revelation, I'm confused on why she can only support with Corrin/Kana. It didn't even need to be supports that end with romance.

The story was full-retard every step of the way. Birthright's story was the least retarded of the three, but that's not exactly a tagline you'd want on the box.
Gameplay-wise, I screwed myself over, so I really can't blame the game for it. On Birthright, I didn't realize maid was a promoted class because Trouble's stats were comparable to a non-promoted class, so I leveled her to 20 and then dropped her like a rock when I realized that she couldn't promote to something. Then, I didn't use Takumi because "filthy archer scum," not knowing that they were buffed to hell and back and mages were nerfed. Then, I didn't use Hinoka because I thought pegasus riders were garbage. Then, I didn't use Sakura because Trouble was already healing. Then, I didn't use Ryoma because "filthy already-promoted unit scum."
At least in Conquest, my only major mistake was dropping Effie as soon as I married her off, thinking that her kid would be a good-enough replacement. She was not.

The plot. It's downright terrible in Conquest while Birthright portrays Hoshido as a nation of peace that dindu nuffin. Revelation's plot felt like wasted potential; I feel like it could have been much better having a story about uniting both nations to fight against an enemy that's secretly conspiring to destroy them both. In spite of that, Conquest is easily one of the best Fire Emblems because of god tier map design.

Most character deaths were poorly done as well. They usually either died for dumb reasons, or did nothing for 20 chapters then suddenly die. Azura's death in conquest isn't even explained unless you play a different version.

The story on every route was pretty trash since it's pretty clear that they overextended themselves when they came up with that mess of the story for each route. Birthright, which had the best story, was so easy that it never felt like generic good kingdom vs generic bad kingdom, it just felt like these band of assholes against these other band of assholes. Adding to this was the fact that they never really gave any indication as to the size of the kingdoms in question, which I think was so they could just bullshit their way through why a fight was happening saying "Oh, the enemy kingdom owns this land." Funnily enough conquest did this better at the end since they had tough enemies that made it felt like you were actually fighting at the capital of Hoshido vs Birthright where you fight some fucking thieves right outside the castle.
Kamui/Corrin also was a fucking terrible protagonist since all he/she did was whine and act like a moron most of the time. He/She managed to ruin several characters supports just because of how big a bitch he/she was, and this wasn't because of her/his reluctance to fight, it was how he/she portrayed that reluctance.

Most everything wrong was related to the story and/or Revelation's gameplay balance. Conquest's gameplay is some of the best the series has ever seen and Birthright is at least better than Awakening. Also while people will complain about about bad supports/characters being more one-note than in the past, the truth is that the series has always varied in that way. FE7 thrives on nostalgia, for instance, as it's cast is only so well remembered cause it was the first game for many.

Kamui would be the super special snowflake saiyan in one scene, then wouldn't be able to tie his/her own damn shoes in the support with another character. Then there was the whole "Oh boo hoo I don't want to kill" to "SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE" when it came to Kamui's child paralogue. They were such a fucking weak main character(And in Leo's support he even shows that Kamui doesn't know what the fuck they are doing tatics wise, and shouldn't be leading even a horse to water) that I honestly attribute them as the main reason why the story made me cringe every time I read it.
