It takes the FPS out of FPS games with counter classes and stupid bullshit "I win" ultimates.
It's a terrible version of TF2 with awful server tick rates, bad game modes, poor balance, and it's another bullshit game where 2 players showing even the slightest team work will outperform a great person working alone.
Individual skill is marginalized and the game sucks ass.

Depends on how well the consoles versions will be. I'm also not a huge fan of shooters without ADS but I can overlook that because all the characters are pretty unique and cool

It's an FPS with a dash of MOBA elements, but its not fully a MOBA.
According to Blizzard, "it's a call back to the shooters of the 90s."
All the characters are blatant stereotypes of where they are from; unlike other Blizzard games which contained created fantasy characters. But this game is to make you relate because they are Heroes from YOUR neck of woods.
And its the new face of ESPORTS.
Gameplay-wise, it runs much slower than any Mechwarrior game created and is running at 20 ticks, whatever the fuck that means. Or so you shoot and 3 secs later, the bullet hits your enemy point blank, or misses.
