In case of M16, that's actually correct.
The M16A2 and A4 are only capable of burst-fire, and those are the versions US military has used since 80s.

The original M4 also was only capable of 3-round burst. Only the M4A1 variant can shoot in full auto.
>>
>>336121164

>>
>>336121897
No...?

Lefties that try to shoot a bullpup which ejects to the right will be pelted.

Not normies will be fine.

But then you have games like STALKER which reverses the side the AK's charging handle is on and makes it eject to the left.

only if you're leftie, and even then your gun is supposed to be positioned quite near the center of your body, meaning the brass'd still fly off far from your face.

>>336122262
The EXM16E1 / M16 and M16A1 had full-auto mode as well, and those were the versions USA used during and after 'Nam.
The burst function WAS however added because the country pumpkin conscripts were not used to automatic weapons, so they wanted to make sure they don't spray their entire mag out by accident.

There is also the sort of in-between version, M16A3, which was pretty much A2 with full-auto mode and rails on top, but those didn't see too wide use
>>
>>336122142
>Lefties that try to shoot a bullpup which ejects to the right will be pelted.
Thus making it a problem exclusive to bullpup.

I don't see anyone getting his face pelted off while shooting a non-bullpup weapon, leftie or not, unless that person puts his face right in front of the ejector/extractor which would be really inconvenient for shooting.
Not like it's that bad to touch the hot brass for such a brief moment anyways.

Before you ask for mod, that's OGSE, a standalone update of SoC with newer engine that backports Clear Sky/Call of Pripyat rendering functions to SoC and some restored cut content from earlier beta builds polished to perfection.

>>
>>336123176
I fucking love OGSE since it adds soft water and particles, proper working antialiasing and most importantly dynamic wet surfaces.
SoC always felt like shit during lack since it lacked that feature that CS and CoP had.
>>
>>336123360
Final version came out last month fully officially translated in English, French and Russian.

http://www.moddb.com/mods/old-good-stalker-evolution/downloads

You need all parts and the patch.

It's standalone and free so you don't even need SoC installed, in fact don't even try installing it on SoC as that will break shit.

Basically it's legitimately free version of SoC that's better in every way.

Far cry games have this bad habit of making early guns seem less desirable by preventing you from attaching whatever you want to them. I always thought this was a fucking stupid limitation. I know why they do it, they want the later game guns and the signature weapons to feel more powerful, but why don't they just put skills in the game that lets me unlock attachment slots for all weapons, and get rid of signatures?

It is legal.
Last year SirGay (owner of GSC) released source code for all 3 games publicly and made it entirely open source under the condition you can't make money off it.
Basically STALKER was made LITERALLY free.

>the country pumpkin conscripts were not used to automatic weapons, so they wanted to make sure they don't spray their entire mag out by accident
Bullshit. It was implemented to maximize hit probability. Studies at the time have shown that three round bursts had the best balance between firepower/accuracy.

No. Learn what a cheek weld is, learn what shouldering a rifle is, and learn where the ejectors are placed.

In an AR15/M16, if the ejector is on the left hand side, you will get pelted in the face with brass due to the way the rifles reflect the brass, as it reflects out and back/to the side.

>>
>>336127597
Well there's still the problem of how much autonomy you want a weapon to have, but for low resolution targeting we are already good though the time needed to retrofit current weaponry and infrastructure would be significant. More sophisticated systems built around future tech will probably start coming in the next few decades if other fields of AI and data processing continue to make the leaps and bounds as they have been doing lately.

There's a very slim chance there might be a ban because of those silly talks in Geneva, but I doubt it seeing as how important this tech is going to be, and how easy it will be for anyone to take advantage of it.

>because if everything goes to hell and somehow a war happens, nukes will start flying.
It literally will never happen. Not an all out nuclear warfare. It's flat out impossible unless a suicidal maniac somehow got his hands on the "red button" and even that is not enough since all the civilzed countries have protection measures in form of needing input from at least 2 different people to launch. /Mutant/ here. I shoot all my guns left handed except Pistols. Brass only sucks if it gets stuck on you somewhere, like down the shirt or in the elbow joint.
I've shoot a few AR15 and the brass deflector worked just fine.

The only issue with the AK side rail is that it usually mounts fairly high, so chin weld for days. With my optics off the rail, I can still aim with irons sort of. Holographic and Red dots are superior to the irons due to faster target acquisition, and accuracy. The AKS74U have the shittiest fucking ironsights.

Pic fucking related, it's my Arsenal with an >EOkek
