what I can't stand is the fact that in the battlefields, whenever you are suppressed the spread of your weapon multiplies by a factor of 100, preventing you from hitting anyhing further than 5 meters, and that in RO2 your rifle moves on its own whenever a bullet flies close to you (yes, "simulating" the flinch of the soldier, though for me that's total bullshit), which almost always mean death for a bolt-action armed rifleman

The core problem with your argument here is that the risk of dying in a game does not compare with the risk of dying in the real world. Therefore, the emotion created in the player can never come close to representing the effects being fired at in real life do. As a result, a suppression mechanic is required to more closely align the game to reality. When you freshly start RO2 the idea is you're a fresh recruit. Now in WWII, these recruits recieved minimal training before seeing combat. So when you're pinned down you get more affected by suppression. The idea is as a fresh recruit you're gonna be scared shitless when pinned down by an mg42. Now as you level up, that's your soldier staying alive longer in the battle. Your uniform gets trashed, you soldier is more familiar with their weapons, and reacts better under pressure. They can bolt, and reload faster, aren't as scared under fire and thus preform better. That's the idea they're going for in this game. And without out the suppression mechanic mgs wouldn't be nearly as scary or useful. You wouldn't be able to effectively cover your team without it.

that's not how it works. The chance that you actually get hit is not as high as you think. They use an automatic gun in a squad to suppress the enemy but the rifleman is the one who actually tries to be accurate.

Supression is good when made like in BF4 (some vignetting and contrast changes, your aim sways a little bit but you can counter it).

It's horrible when done like in BF3 (screen goes blurry, bullets don't go where you're aiming, no way to counter it).

I think Red Orchestra 2 does it pretty well, losing some color and some aim sway isn't that terrible, and if you're good you can deal with it.

Wehraboos love it because it's basically shooting at pigeons for them. The tank and the increased tickets don't compensate nearly enough for the fact that Russians have to fight in an open area with no place to hide. Uphill at that, too. Plus, there are way too many points to capture in time.

I've played this map maybe 100 times as Soviets and won 6 of the matches at best.

It feels more realistic than most other shooters, and I can easily feel immersed in that. It encourages me to sometimes hold back as if my life was on the line; I was able to go without dying on Bridges from Cap C & D to the end, and I felt like a lucky man for making it out alive with only two injuries.
I don't like how I'm just bad sometimes. I don't know how it goes for y'all, but there are days where I can be top 5, having fun, doing well, and then there are just random days where I can't hit an enemy/can only team kill at 30m.
