So what are the chances of this coming to pc?
>>
I'm not even sure if it'd depend on how 1 and 2 sell
>>
>>336117505
1 sold great on pc right
>>
You can experience Danganronpa 3 on PC when it comes out as it is an anime.

If your going to ask about V3, which is the new game, then maybe.
>>
>>336117413

I think given that 1 and 2 came on PC and the vita is dead as a duck, I think we'd see a PS4/PC release rather than PS4/vita, maybe we'd get PS4/vita/PC
>>
>>336117815
Maybe the Vita version won't get localized at all
>>
>>336117685
of course i mean the game we're on /v/ aren't we??
>>
>>336117685
there's anime on Steam
>>
I really hope so.
I'm on the Danganronpa train now with the PC releases and I'd much rather play them on PC.
Is AE worth playing for the story at least? For whatever I reason I have a PSTV.
>>
>>336117413
very likely.
after 3 years of the vita release
>>
>>336117954
>AE

wat
>>
Both 1 and 2 sold pretty well I think. I'm gonna search numbers.
>>
>>336118234
Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls
>>
>>336117857
Doubt it. The vita versions sell better than the steam releases.
>>
Is there a version I can play on my phone so that I'd have something to do at work?
>>
>>336118302
It's pretty damn garbage.
>>
>>336118796
I'm not sure how good phones are these days but if it can emulate PSP then sure.
>>
>>336118249

http://steamspy.com/app/413410

20k for the sequel
40k for OG

Less than half on the Vita releases. Which exceeded 250k combined, not even to date.

This is WITH uncertainty, so likely less on both ends by 3-4k
>>
>>336118809
I figured as much, seeing as it had a gameplay style they probably had no idea what to do with.
Is the story salvageable or not really?
At least the OST is pretty great.
>>
>>336117857
Well the PS4 version definitely will and it's the same game.
>>
>>336118809
No it isnt.

>>336118954
Story is enjoyable has a lot of high points. Drawn out near the end, otherwise plays like a survival horror tps with puzzles and gimmick guns. Amazing OST.

People are just salty and stupid and can't go from VNs to shooters.
>>
>>336117815
Vita is still getting releases.
>>
>>336118931
They might figure that the long term nature of PC sales may make the port be still worth it. I can guarantee you that a few months from now if Danganronpa has a 50% sale on Steam it will still sell.
>>
>>336119145
so
>>
>>336119145

I know it is, but I'm saying that it'll more likely not get a vita release in the west given how poor it's generally performing, especially considering how niche VN's are.

Granted this has improved with more VN's coming to steam, but that in all likelihood makes the PC a more attractive platform to localize to over the vita.

>>336118931
I think that's to do with the fact the vita has a larger install base of users who prefer Japanese games, whereas the PC is a tad more alienated by such games, even with DR's reputation.
>>
>>336119303
Considering it did well at dull price on a portable that has a fraction of the install base on PC, I'd contend that's highly doubtful, more when it will be buried and overshadowed further by more upcoming releases. Most people dont often do much to play VNs and often watch them instead.
>>
>>336117413
Very high. The Japs are realizing that Steam releases are pure profit for almost no work, even with only mediocre sales.
>>
>>336118721
The engine is ported, it even runs on Linux. Extra sales are extra sales and at this point it won't really cost them much to get them.
>>
>>336119373
There are much more niche releases on the platform. That's a pretty dumb thing to say. Again, if it did well above what they expected, why would they not? Because its an old platform? That doesnt really make sense since these games are made for the Vita.

They likely will localize it for PC well after the console release, like always.
>>
>>336119502
He was suggesting a PC only release.
Its been proven that more niche stuff sells worst and worst as sequels drop, which has already happened with goodbye despair.
>>
So when is the anime coming out anyway? Soon, right?
Do we know anything more substantial about v3 outside of the single trailer we've had so far?
>>
>>336119373
No, PC users really enjoy weeabo stuff, its just oversaturated on Steam. Neptunia did a shit ton better than DR.
>>
>>336119508

I guess it going to PC After would make more logical sense, I could see an alongside release as it'd be more likely given the PS4 version is allegedly 1080/60 and they could port that and given how successful the DR1/2 ports are it shouldn't pose a huge issue.

>>336119702

I guess, I think we need to wait for people to sift through the shite and hopefully sales'll pick up, granted DR1 has been on PC for years through emulation, surprised 2 hasn't done better though.
>>
>>336119621
Starts in July. Both parts will air together.

>Do we know anything more substantial about v3 outside of the single trailer we've had so far?
Future is about the survivors after the first game after joining the Future Foundation. Despair's about the what DR2's cast did before the second game.
>>
I really hope it comes to PC. I don't have a vita, but I'd love to play V3
>>
>>336120018
There's a PS4 version too
>>
>>336120062
I don't have a PS4 either, and I can't really see much reason to get one at the moment
>>
>>336120181

I'd wait until the 4.5 comes out then pick up a vanilla one for cheaper and maybe a few games bundled, you're right to assume there's fuck all reason to get one though.
>>
>>336120239
>buy a shitty console for 1 (one) game that isn't even an exclusive

wew /v/
>>
>>336120875

if you're >>336120018 I completely forgot you mentioned you had a PC, I'm super ill.

That being said getting a shite console for 1(male) game is a dumb idea from any point of view.
>>
>>336121364
not him
>>
>>336117413
I don't know, what are the sales of the other 2?
>>
After the Vita for sure. I'll spoil as many PCniggers as I can.
>>
>>336117567
>1 sold great
the first game of a series always sell good on steam, then people get to know the game and stop buying the sequels. like trails for example.
>>
>>336122634

Playstation users, everyone.

They also posted DR1 and 2 spoilers in threads as soon as the PC ports were announced
>>
>>336122607
42k for DR1, 17k for DR2
Basically, it's confirmed

You'd think people would be happy others would get to play games they like
>>
>>336122817
that sounds pretty shitty to me...
>>
>>336123194
I dunno, DR1 is nearly six years old so
>>
>>336122908
I can't talk for every vita owner here but most of us are. 3 of my friends got to play the series, all three became fans and I'm in the middle of convincing 2 other people, all thanks to the steam release.
The only thing that changed in the community is the constant falseflag shitposting platform war, but we make an effort to ignore it.
>>
>>336123541
does that console war batting even happen outside of /v/

Oh please, you've got shit posting on both sides. Come on now. Spoilers on one, console war bullshit on the other.
>>
>>336118890
>>336118796
I think PPSSPP can emulate psp games on smartphones/android so you can play DR1 at least.
>>
>>336117413
95%
why port the first two games without porting the third one?
it also coincides with their plans to release DR3 on "bigger" platforms since they have a bigger budget this time around
>>
>>336124381

Yeah, the real question is whether they're going to bother porting AE or not.
>>
>>336122828
Steam releases have no manufacturing costs and require very little advertising. Valve takes a small piece but most of the money goes straight to the publisher.

Porting games to the PC, especially a simple one like Danganronpa, is relatively simple and so does not take up many man hours - ie. it's cheap to do.

If Danganronpa sells 50k copies on Steam (which it already has) at $30 each, that's $1.5mil which is mostly going straight to the publisher. It probably cost a something like $30-50k to develop the PC version.
>>
>>336124601
fuck that must be why literally any visual novel is coming to pc lately
it's guaranteed money
>>
>>336124701
VNs usually are released on PC, and it's been that way for a long time. You certainly have less restrictions that way too.

>>336124701
Well yeah. The publisher will typically see three times as much profit from a digital game sale as a physical sale at the same price point, and Steam is the biggest digital distribution platform for games around.
>>
>>336124889
I'm sorry that you have no knowledge whatsoever about games development or retail logistics. Maybe you should go and read up on these topics independently so that you can be more informed in the future.
