DS3 has the best area design, bosses, quality curve, and npc's
DaS has a world design far rand ahead of any other souls type game. Unfortunately the second half isn't as good as the first.
BB has the most visceral combat, but also has the worst healing system, worst armours, and the runes are shit in comparison to rings. The bosses are largely shit without the DLC as well. BB also has a problem with every portion of the game after cathedral ward being slightly or majorly disappointing.
DeS has a consistent level of quality throughout, but the quality is largely "meh" in comparison to newer games.
DaS2 is largely redundant outside of it's DLC in any souls listing.

I actually found it easy as fuck to summon friends with passwords. Always got them within 60 seconds. Dark 3 on the other hand still gives me the same shitty problems all the other games did. Placing a sign and it just never shows up on the host world, waiting for 20 minutes sometimes until it does.
