Judging by these gifs, the jerky 35 degree camera rotation for impacts doesn't look very nice. It's too strong, needs to be more subtle and less distracting. Especially on that final punch, the players point of focus is jumping around too much, which can make you very nervous if the enemy isn't dead yet.

Consider changing it to just be the camera shaking at random offsets of no more than 4 pixels in one of 8 directions. Make the shaking ease-in over 160ms for small hits and 300ms for big hits.

Nice idea going for a brawler by the way, there needs to be way more brawler games.

i actually offset the cameras x,y already, but i guess the combination can be disorienting for people. you should take a minute to try it out if you got windows, i had to make 15 fps gifs but the game runs at 60 fps

Says game best played with controller, but does not use my game pad. Get your shit together, OP. If you're relying on XInput, you're going to have a bad time debugging this kind of shit. Raw input or DirectInput support just about every controller there is.
