Personally it's reinvigorated the game for me snd stirred up a bland meta into something extremely fun. If you were ever thinking about jumping in for the first time or returning like I did, now is the time to do it.

Interesting, I don't remember what pushed me away from the game originally however so I don't think it could grip me, I recall spending a shitton of time running through wastelands, getting to a war zone and getting shot down by someone I didn't see and that was just boring

The default weapons are essentially jack of all trades, and other weapons are sidegrades at best but delve into situational combat more effectively.

Good for minmaxing builds and finding what works for you
Pic related is the NC assault rifle Reaper-DMR and my personal gunfu. Shit kills in 2 headshots yet at the same time fires slowly and has heavy ass recoil. Compared to the default gun you're not going to be able to use it in ever situation, but at med-long range it's a beast.

The ANT returns from PS1, and now its a resource gathering AND construction vehicle.
Eat up some randomly placed resources to build stuff.
Park the ANT somewhere, use it's construction terminal on the back and drop stuff on the ground.
Most objects take from a couple seconds to a max of 45 seconds to fully materialize.
You have walls, pillboxes, barracks and the like.
Elevated towers with Anti-Air or Anti-Vehicle turrets.
An overhead umbrella-like shield to block bombers.
A Silo to store more resources to build stuff and give power to stuff like the shield and turrets.
A few small stations that grant aid like a repair field.
And the HIVE that will slowly generate a Victory Point which lends towards dominating a continent, making it a big target to the other factions. Often you'll get roaming behind-enemy-lines squads searching for Player bases with active HIVEs.

You can buy the best guns at level 1 as long as you spend a few bucks, came across someone who had less than 2 hours in the game and he had all end game gear, they even sell a pack on Steam for 30 bucks that starts you out with some of the most OP weapons in game.
