Should single player games always be playable offline?
Is the RTS genre dying?
Should you buy games at launch?
Do boss battles have a place in modern games?
Is it ethical to pirate a game you've already paid for?

Should we ban violent games?
>>
>Should single player games always be playable offline?
Yes unless the online element is somehow intrinsic to the gameplay/design.
>Is the RTS genre dying?
Not my genre, I don't know.
>Should you buy games at launch?
If you want to.
>Do boss battles have a place in modern games?
The mindset that even comes up with this question is a cancer to the industry.
>Is it ethical to pirate a game you've already paid for?
The better question is, "If it's unethical to pirate a game you've already paid for, should you care?" And the answer to that is no.
>>
Yes.
Yes. Though so are most genres.
No.

>Should single player games always be playable offline?
By definition single player means playing alone not with other people on the internet.
>>
>>336108042
He's trying to play a Devil's Advocate. He sucks pretty bad at it though, because he isn't subtle at all.

If there's something that doesn't have place in modern games it's random encounters.
>>
>>336107949
Evan is just playing the devil's advocate, someone's gotta do it

Also RTS is dead, there is no denying it.
>>
>Should single player games always be playable offline?
Not really.

>Is the RTS genre dying?
Yes, thanks god.

>Should you buy games at launch?
If you want, then yes. Don't listen to faggots that tell you otherwise.

>Do boss battles have a place in modern games?
Of course.

>Is it ethical to pirate a game you've already paid for?
Yes and the same goes with emulation of newer consoles.

God made those faces punchable on purpose.

They just picked a guy with a punchable face and made him say all that shit for contrast.
>>
No shit
Yeah
Only if you can confirm that it will be good. Which you rarely can
Yes. Though they should be done better.
I don't see what the problem would be.

>Should single player games always be playable offline?

Yes, but the online route where you gain perks for doing so is also good. See Xenoblade X.

>Is the RTS genre dying?

There's not been a real stand out one in ages.

>Should you buy games at launch?

If you REALLY want it right away. Otherwise, the smarter move for a consumer is to wait a month or three. Exception: first party Nintendo games because they're sticky as fuck.

>Do boss battles have a place in modern games?

Yes, but developers need to get creative with them. Bosses should challenge a player's skills to that point, not just be something you mash until their dead or cheap and easy QTEs.

>Is it ethical to pirate a game you've already paid for?

Gray area, but I'd say yes.
>>
>>336107949
>Do boss battles have a place in modern games?

Do people that say "have a place in modern" have a right to even speak in modern times?

Like fuck off with your bullshit cunt
>>
>>336109474
yep. to make them relatable to faggots with punchable faces like you so youll watch their shitty videos and give them a job.

Evan Lahti literally wrong about everything.

Should single player games always be playable offline?
Yes. No argument possible.

Is the RTS genre dying?
No? I don't know.

Should you buy games at launch?
Sure. Do what you want.

Do boss battles have a place in modern games?
Yes.

Is it ethical to pirate a game you've already paid for?
Yes.

>Should single player games always be playable offline?
yes
>Is the RTS genre dying?
even if it is, you could fix that by making some RTS games yourself. all the best early studios made games that they themselves wanted to play.
>Should you buy games at launch?
Mu
>Do boss battles have a place in modern games?
Yes. achieving a climax in a video game without having a boss fight of some kind is ridiculously difficult due to game's nature as an interactive medium
>Is it ethical to pirate a game you've already paid for?
It's ethical to create a back-up of a game you've already paid for. Pirating it is functionally no different from using such a back-up
>>
>>336109342
RTS is for the skilled, which seems to be lacking from most people these days.
>>
>>336111676
And there it is. Without fail, the RTS fag dives in to tell everyone how only his genre has any real skill involved, after which he will jack off to old Brood War gameplay and cry himself to sleep.
>>
>>336107949
Of course. There's gotta be a time were your internet connection is fucked so you have no choice but to play offline single player games.

Yes. Haven't seen a decent RTS lately, mainly because Im not that active in searching some.

Normally no, but there are some times that I REALLY want to get a specific game that I'll buy a copy of it day one

Yes. Boss battles should, at best, be present in whatever game there is, unless that game has no place for boss battles (like cooking mama). And speaking of boss battles, they better be good too.

You paid a good amount of cash for a game. If that game fucks up (for example, the disc broke) then of course you have the right to pirate one. It would be a waste of money if you spend another $60 bucks for a game that you almost finished.

>Is the RTS genre dying?

8-Bit Armies from Petroglyph just came out this week, so no.

Also this week!
Offworld Trading Company
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada

Late January:
Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak

So no, lots of great stuff coming out.
