Alvin's existence is entirely harmless though. His entire point is that he drums up himself to be a chosen one even though he isn't. Him failing was obvious from get go and that's why you also kill him at the end. Yeah the more I thought about I think Geralt would be at a 9 and Vilgefortz would be a 10+. He's quite clearly the big dog in magic and melee and even when he wasn't a 100% healthy he still quickly gained the upper hand against Geralt who recovered from the first fight while Vilgefortz never recovered from tanking the portal to the face. He was an absolute madman and was basically the final boss fight of a party based RPG.

Bad idea. The expansions are separate stories that can be played pretty much whenever you want. Best to play the main game and then use that save to play the expansions. There's a great scene near the end of the series where the Lodge is unable to see that the real evil Vilgefortz did to Ciri was not allowing her self-determination and although their means were less brutal, they still had the ultimate goal of controlling Ciri and her child. They were an illuminati that tampered with nations, assassinated leaders, started wars, and believed it was justified as long as they benefited.
