So when this came out we spent a while trying to figure out how to get the equip all disguises challenge done. I still don't have it, for now I think it is because I never actually finished the mission after getting the more rare ones. I did find this, though. Which I haven't seen anyone else do until now.

I had that happen all the time in the Paris escalation mission where you had to kill the guy with the sword from the glass case. His hand would always get stuck inside the glass case and I would have to shoot it out to hide the body.

Also, the Italy escalation mission sucks. Literally no challenge. You do the same shit over and over and I get to the last part and the challenge is just that guards can detect all guards. Why would I ever disguise as a guard?

I have to admit, these one-off targets get me excited. My attention is heightened, and I feel like I'm being briefed for a real mission, not just the next level of the game. Episodic release schedule aside, this was a 10/10 idea for the series.
>>
>>336068576
I just don't like the sound of this only one chance gimmick. You can't afford to do anything but the safest "jewbait them into a quiet corner and silenced pistol" kill on them.

>>336069191

>>
>>336069191
Assuming you treat the as an advanced end game after playing through the levels, and developing a grasp of the terrain, you have plenty of time to play out your strategy like a real hitman would. No one is forcing you do jump right in and only do the most boring, sure fire approach. You have days to plan out your hit. Get a white board, and start brainstorming, and then see if you came up with a viable plan. It will be even better if we can get some in-game scouting time to look at patterns and security routines.

I would agree that if all you get is like a 2 hour timed mission when you press 'go', that will make for a pretty shitty experience. If we're given hours to days to scout, plan, and execute, then it will be fun.
>>
Does anyone have the pic comparing the graphics before and after the "optimizing" IO did for performance, like how the lighting and overall effects got worse?

I hate they are one shot only.

The contracts sound fun, and Hitman is all about replayability. I want to do them over and over in creative ways. Its like the devs missed the whole point of the series.
>>
>>336069665
Pwople will tho.
>>336069526
Has the right idea. I think it would be a good idea to make it so the mission can be replayed as long as the target isnt alerted.

That way people can scout a few times. But tgey need to add back binoculars.

Have they fixed the AI in the game yet?
I played the pre-release demo and the npcs were so oblivious to everything and walking around like brainless robots. Made me cancel my pre-order because it just felt like ass.
>>
>>336070325
Yes, and that's a good thing *providing* there is enough time to scout, and plan, and be generally methodical outside of the game before you do a hot run. At least for me, the potential for a high stakes planning stage is what separates these missions from the regular levels.

If the limited time levels turn out to only give us enough to time run in blind and make shit up as we go along, and hope it works, then it's a bad design.

That's what the main missions, contracts, and escalations are for. I don't get why everyone is so assblasted about the idea of one extra mode that throws a serious challenge at you. Are you bad at video games?

Don't worry, you can fail some of them and still get the unlocks eventually. Nothing is tied to a single target. It's about accumulating wins.
>>
So is the game badly optimized then? On more mainstream cards like the 960 or 370, can you get solid 30fps on medium at least?

How do you know? Steam sales + PS4 sales + XBone sales, not to mention this is still episodic and you can only really start counting all the sales when the whole game is done and they go for the second big marketing push.

Have faith, anon, I believe that word of mouth from the quality of this game will spread and help it.

They usually update the game on Tuesdays with new escalations. Possibly this time around they will add the elusive target.

I think the game is good. If you enjoy what you play of the content from the intro pack, then Sapienza is definitely worth it. You should play what you have before you go thinking about buying a new level, though.

$60 bucks for the "full experience". There's currently two levels.
>>
>>336077883
For 60 bucks you get all the levels as they come out so you're basically pre-ordering them. But you can just pay 25 bucks for all the current content and not lose on anything at all. You're also only paying 5 more bucks in the long run.
>>
Have they said anything about removing that always-online drm? No way I'm paying anwhere near full price with that shit.
>>
>>336078054
They probably won't do it for a good long while, unfortunately.
I certainly do hope that, when they're done with the game and move on to working on something else, they have a patch to let you play all escalations, unlocks and shit like that offline. Just for the sake of preservation if nothing else. Would be a shame if all that content was lost when the servers inevitably went down.
>>
>>336078054

What country do you live in where being always online is a problem, let alone where you'd be gaming?
>>
>>336078225
To be fair, Always Online DRM was legitimately fucking shit when it straight up booted you to the main menu. If your internet flickered for even half a minute, you'd have to repeat the mission all over again.

It's not as egregious now that it just pauses the game and you can reconnect and go back to the spot you were, though.
>>
>>336078225

I wouldn't care if I had access to the fastest, most stable Internet connection on the planet, I'm not very keen on supporting companies that put in anti-consumer bullshit like always-online DRM.
