I have fonder memories of the early 2000's than the 90's. Of course the 90's were great, Super Nintendo, Ninja Turtles movies and cartoons, but I was a kid back then. As a teenager, I was, at least, more conscious of my passion for the vidya and, thus, enjoyed it more.
These were also the years when my friends made me discover the MEgaman X series I had missed on and the Dragon Warrior games on NES. Also, my first legit completed playthrough of Zelda II

I started Martial arts when I was 17 years old and I remember just how great it was to push my body to its utter fucking limits without worrying too much about injuries as long as you didn't train like an idiot. I miss the feeling of carrying myself like I weighted as much as a feather, feeling light on my feet and being able to do motions without feeling like places in my body are about to tear apart.
That's what sucks about growing old, even if you exercize and keep in top shape for your age, your body still declines and as you get older, you have to be careful about things you didn't use to worry about and doing full contact have given me injuries that I shouldn't even have at my age, My hip, sometimes, kills me, my back is completely fucked up and when I train I have to go easier than I used to.
The only upside is experience. I wish I could go back to my 18 years old physical self with the experience I have acquired through the years of training and fighting.

The only thing I miss about the nineties was working at a tiny little convenience store in 96 not having to deal with the fact that 9/11 happened. I woke up, left my tiny apartment, went to work, talked with my friends, came back home, played some new Doom 2 WAD, order some food from the cool Asian dude's Chinese restaurant beneath my apartment, watch some TV and go to bed. Everything just got flipped around after Iraq and 9/11 for some reason.

People just got angrier. Everybody's got a shorter fuse, more agitated. Less trusting of one another. Facebook and politics and shit mess people up, get into arguments with one another. Pretty sure the Internet has something to do with it as well. I love playing games online with people, and the porn's amazing too, but everybody's too enclosed online, even if they're connected to a shitload of people.
I'm rambling on now, but basically, people could put on a fucking smile and talk to you in a store instead of looking at their phones all the time.

1. I'm 42, so I'm not working in the convenience store anymore. History teacher at a high school.
2. Got a wife and kids and a full time job, so not so much eating out/hanging with friends
3. Don't really have much time for games either. Luckily my wife's kind of a fan or else I'd be dying here
If you're 20-25 (or holy shit less than 20), hold onto that daily routine for as long as you fucking can. My life's going pretty well now but I'd kill to get my youth back. Your energy starts to run out around 35, and it's all downhill from there.
