All the tools he has just glue together and feels so "right." The amount of versatility DMC4 Dante has, how every weapon feels different rather than having recycled properties, and the amount of instantaneous command moves he has.
Even Nero or DMC4SE Vergil, Trish, and Lady don't come close. They're all missing something critical (mostly defensive options like RG or Trickster air dash) and have some useful moves locked behind at the end of combo string so it's not very useful, rather than being instantaneous command moves like Dante (for example, a lot of Trish's moves such has her shoryuken). All of this is also achieved without annoying command such as double input (Trish's launcher, Vergil's Kick13) or back-fw motion (Nero's air stinger).
Is he just an accident? Can Capcom ever hope to recreate this in DMC5?

Also, IDK man, DMC4SE characters were all broken. Vergil is very cheap, overpowered, but still incomplete compared to his DMC3SE iteration. Yes Vergil had a lot of moves, but they all overlap with no real use other than raw DPS.

I think the only thing that ever came close was Ninja Gaiden Sigma but even then you generally abuse invincibility frames and go for the most sensible combo. As opposed to DMC4 where you can cancel jump stance dance use 4-7 different guns and probably 40 unique abilites across all stances..shiit
