So apparently a whole lot of people are having issues with the new Fallout 4 survival system, which got released in the last 1.5 update.
People are bitching about the "no fast travel" thing being too hard, and the whole setting being "infuriatingly hard", especially since pretty much everything can oneshot you unless you are in a maxed power armor.
What's the matter, exactly?
Are these people really that bad or did they make Fallout 4 really that hard?

I really don't know for sure.
I've been playing pretty much since day one with a mod that lets enemys one-shot you if they manage to hit your head / chest (You also deal a lot more damage based on location - a headshot kills pretty much everything in 1 or 2 shots). Never really had a problem with that. I've had fun like that.
But i suppose people are just that shitty if you remove handholding from a game like they did in the Beta / Survival - Patch.

no fast travel isn't hard but it is incredibly tedious and just wastes your time
I imagine Danse would be an optimal companion for this, considering he's a tank so you wouldn't have to worry about healing him as often

Yes, and there's a whole lot of new issues.
Seems like they copied the survival system from a plethora of "survival mmos" like DayZ, ARK or H1Z1.

I just don't like the save system. I've had it crash like 4 times in one sitting and I don't feel like arbitrarily losing a ton of progress if I don't find a bed before I get dumped to the desktop.

I remember that the crashes in Skyrim didn't bother me much because Bethesda started using multiple autosaves, so even if one save was unrecoverable you'd have a few backups right there so you'd never lose too much data. I don't think the older did that which sometimes caused me to lose some serious progress.

There's nothing hard about it. It's just tedious. The world is ugly as sin and nothing interesting happens in it so it just gets boring.
I couldn't care less about this game until there's a mod which makes the entire game a clean slate for roleplaying to your liking.
And that doesn't seem likely given the extent of the forced integrated story by Bethesda. Very disappointed in this game, being a FO game, it really hit me hard and opened my eyes about the current state of vidya.
Like, the casuals are reaching every saving grace of video games now.

This reeks of a point being completely missed. Oblivion's and later titles that emulated it's fast travel gets hate not for existing, but for how it is implemented. It coupled with brain dead quests makes the game world next to meaningless. You point and click to new locations. It may as well be the map from the original Fallout, only the dungeons manage to still be half as interesting as the classic CRPGs once you get to them. We want intelligent world design - including a fast travel system that rewards planning and foreknowledge of the world and feeds into quests that don't hold your hand.
Removing fast travel in a game designed around it is utter retardation. It's like a hard mode in Souls games just removing bonfires.
I remember getting a warning in New Vegas about hardcore mode being ridiculously hard. That was easy as fuck.
