It's a bit of a catch-22, really. If they do almost nothing, we have folks like you who complain there's no reason for the amiibos to exist. But on the other hand we get people who become pissed that actual content is locked behind a physical paywall. There's literally no way to win in these situations. Nintendo should just made amiibo a DLC alternate. Costs a bit more but you get a nice figure.

I think it might have significantly more content for both single player and multiplayer now that it's been proven that it is a successful new ip.
