valve needs to separate csgo, tf, dota, and all that shit into its own ecosystem away from the rest of steam. they institute all these security measure for 14 year olds with mommy's credit card who get scammed and the rest of us who just want to sell some extra cards every few months now have to wait 2 weeks to sell them. they're the only people who want a phone number for 2 step (while no other company does) just so they can have this ban method to ban counter strike kids.

That's one of the problems with Dota 2 now. Valve removed open modding, so the only modding you can do now can result in VAC bans.
