The only time this occurs is fighting games. Specifically Blazblue and P4UA where I mainNoel and Naotorespectively.
Any other time I'll use the male character given the option unless it significantly impacts gameplay.

It was tolerable in vanilla but a horrifying pile of shit ever since. Then the pandas came and made the game completely unplayable.

I haven't played since pandas so I can't really comment on the state of the game right now but Tauren were the only goddamn race that made sense to give paladins too all things considered.
Most of my characters were UD or Trolls anyway.
