Seconding the online infrastructure---that would fundamentally change how consoles would proceed in the following years. The quality of games on the other hand---objective. Xbox had it's fair share of exclusive stinkers (Azurik, Black Stone, Bruce Lee, Brute Force, Dino Crisis 3, Kabuki Warriors, NFL Fever series, Tao Feng). PS2's library was way larger, but by percentage I'd either go with they were similar in quality or slight PS2 advantage. Never cared for the DualShock design but I'll take that over the Duke OG Xbox controller. And I have big hands too.

It ran multiplats well because they were all designed for PS2 and were not upgraded in any tangible from the PS2. So, in a lot of ways, the OG Xbox was untapped and never hit it's strides.
