How do I fulfill my passion of making video games?
Learn how to do those things
sound like Hideo
Get a loan/kickstarter
Hire talented people
Make a game
It shouldn't be hard, anon. This is capitalism, after all.

We're done here
>Don't know programming
fix a least that part, nothing else will come of it if you cant at least program a basic game.
>>335987419
You dont need heavy math. Anyone can learn to program.
>>335987482
First post best post.
Change your name to "Keiji Inafune" or "Tim Schaefer"
>>335987419
Is there any hope for someone who can't math for shit to learn to program even?
>>335987419
Can you write?
>>335987670
Yes. The maths youll need isnt that fucking hard for the vast majority of shit.
>>335987419
Gamemaker. Undertale was made by an ideas guy.
>>335987419
write story, compose music, design gameplay
also get a team
>>335987714
Why are you even asking that? Whether you can write or not is totally irrelevant to video game writing.
>>335987670
Yes.. Programming is (easy) Like learning a language, it just needs practice.
Optimization is where the math comes in.
>>335987661
Tim can do story board and decent writing + drawing experience
beside his jew jitsu that is
If you know how sin and cos and vectors work you're 50% there
Get a shitload of money. Then you can just hire a bunch of people and tell them what to do.
But the best thing would be to learn how to program something.
>>335987419
I just ended a project and I am now working as a tutor for ESL, if you want someone to add you and help you with programming, I can do that, well, as long as it's not something insanely unreasonable, not going to make a game the scope of the witcher for you.

>To do a videogame.
>First thing to mention is "write a story".

Like basic algebra.
>>335987812
Are you implying that all video game writing is shit? For the most part Im inclined to agree, but if you want to be an "idea guy" Id imagine it would be an advantage to present your ideas nicely in text.
>>335987963
I'm merely implying that you don't even have to be good to be a video game writer :^)
>>335987815
Mmm... Interesting.
>>335987963
That's not a story, it's a context then.
Can you describe how to cook eggs with a set of simple commands? If yes - you can learn at least basic programming.
>>335987960
story is not a bad place to start if op can't do anything.
he can just make story heavy game like Phoenix Wright/Zero Escape. that type of game require very low programing skill all he have to is hire some artist
You don't need math to program. At least not for what you want to do. Just get the fuck off 4shit, for starters.
>>335987419
I can do two of those things and my friend can do the other.
Sell me your ideas.
If they sell well, I'll cut you royalty.
If thet don't, I'll politely tell you to fuck off.
Best deal you will ever get in the industry as a #noskill #whitemale.
Include email in response if you want details.
JUSTlike make game.
Alternatively you could cut your dick off and start a kickstarter under the guise of trying to make something progressive.

The eggs will end up tasting casual!
>>335988408
this, a very basic level of math is needed, unless you are doing a very complex game that has to calculate a lot of damage multipliers and the like.
Learn how to mod a game
Work up from thwre

Start with gamemaker while learning all the things you listed plus writing and maybe music, don't know anything about the music part honestly. The important thing is to accept that you sucking is a part of the process and not a reflection of you as an individual.
Regarding the writing, even though some anons dismiss it in games, an interesting premise as well as feelzbait characters will take you a long way, and those things count as writing.
Also an important part in any of the disciplines that you will decide to learn is to practice the most basic stuff and not get drawn into all the theory surrounding what is right and what is best. I made this mistake when i first started learning programming and that was nasty: programmers arguments are even uglier than console wars because they have a lot of reasoning behind it.
I recommend starting with a mind for numbers book or audiobook for all things learning related and moving from there. Cheers.

>ideas guy.
I prefer the term 'Creative DIrector'
>>335987419
If you have no aptitude with any of them, try and learn the basics of each.
Then focus on being able to manage others and logistics with budget and time allotment.
Many teams fall apart since they don't have a proper management and let feature creep or plain laziness take over, and others fall apart since the person in management don't have any understanding of how each individual part works and then puts unrealistic goals on each of them.
If you don't have any aptitude with that.
Give up.
Is Peter the king of idea guys?
>>335987419
Remember a true vidya visionary never gets his hands dirty with "development" and "work".

Pay a translator.
>>335989486
learn basic grammar, run the words through a text hooker and translator and pretend you can read it like everyone else
clearly its not your passion if you dont want to learn how to do 90% of it

As Bethesda continues to prove with every game they make.
>>335989069
If he is, then I'd watch my back on the throne because David Cage is certainly looking to steal his spot.

Game Designers are just ideas guy who actually get shit done. So do that.
