I was just playing with another "pro" and a "veteran" and they did this. I scored about 10-15 seconds later. I really don't get it, so many players drop if they go down by 2 even if there's plenty of time left.

I almost always play defensive mid. I float around the mid looking for rebounds to keep it in the enrmys territory, going for easy scores when possible. Literally every single time I've ever gone pure offensive it ended badly because everyone else is pure offense and they get a lucky breakaway and free score.
