Aldrich doesn't use Lifehunt in the fight. He uses the Gravelord sword. His soul can turn into a Lifehunt miracle, but miracles are only stories. So he doesn't have the real thing, just a vision of it transposed into a story.

The ring itself, the item description ON THE RING, says that Gwyndolin was given it so he could act female. The ring on your character just makes them perform opposite actions, but the lore of the ring suggests it actually changes the gender when worn, either for a long period or when worn by a god. Gods don't seem to have the same hardcoded biology as humans, or giants. They can look how they want, and Gwyndolin chose to wear the Reversal Ring and become female. Yorshka is the same way.
