I thought the DLC for Dishonred was well worth paying for, that whole extra campaign was fantastic.
The Shivering Isles was also a very good example of DLC, worth the money.
What else? The Dark Souls and Bloodborne DLC was very good. I'm actually rather excited for the DaSIII DLC, I need more levels, that game is so much fun.
Witcher 3 had a pretty good one, and I'm kind of keen for the next couple.
Dragon's Dogma's Blackbitter Isle was well worth rebuying the game for, I loved the shit out of that.
Come on OP, are you seriously under the belief that DLC is inherently bad? What's wrong with releasing more content a little later down the line? If it adds to my experience, I'll gladly pay for and play it.

I like to view the new Witcher DLC as an expansion pack, it's adding quite a lot of gameplay time to the game and a whole new area. I think they've moved away from the term expansion now days because instead of going to the store and purchasing it, like I did for games like Morrowind and Gothic II, you can just download it from the internet, which is literally what DLC means. What you're talking about is the quality of what we get, and you're right for the most part, it's tragically poor.

The DLC are entirely new story missions, with new characters which play differently, and new areas to run around in. You can run into characters from the main game (and other DLC missions) in little side-bits and see what they're up to.
>Hyrule Warriors
Main game is easily 100+ hours of content, just to clear all the maps. Each DLC pack is a map almost as big as the main game.
Muramasa is definitely the better of the two, but if you like Musou, then Hyrule Warriors is a great deal. Not sure how the HW Legends DLC pack turned out, although at least it is cheaper.

The DLC's were fine. Not amazing, but not terrible either. If it weren't for the amazing bosses in Ds1 and the actually competent level design in Ds2 I might have killed myself.
Bloodborne did it best IMO. I still think it had too few new NPCs, but the huge amount of new weapons/bosses/enemies was astounding, and the level design was pretty good too.
Hopefully Ds3 learns from BB and creates the DLC that AoTA could have been.
