I am going to try to explain what a stock actually is in laymans terms so you can understand
Imagine an inflatable girl that you purchased online. When you buy her the pressure inside her body is at the same psi of the atmosphere outside.
Now, lets say you like this inflatable girl so much that you buy 99 more of her. A few days later the psi of each girl has increased slightly causing each of them to get a bit thicker. You still have the same number of girls, 100 of them but they are getting thick. Now, imagine the psi of each girl drops by a significant amount and they are almost skeletal. You still have the same number of girls, 100, and they can re inflate at any time and tend to do so because people out there like to buy thin girls, not thick ones. But in doing so the girls get thicker until they decide to sell them back to the company because they get disgusted by how thick they are.
