Lots of people complain about ganking in PvP but really the only situation in Souls that's actually ganking is if a host with summons is waiting around for the express purpose of jumping invaders. if two really good players with the same level of skill fights againts eachother but one uses the darksword and one uses the caestus the one with the darksword is going to win by far, and that's why people are using it mostly, but alot of players also use it because they are bad but then again so are most people who play dark souls, doesn't change the fact that darksword is a top tier weapon, especially for turtling.
also, you can't catch people who are rolling away from you with your second swing.

Because at release of DaS2 fist weapons were OP as fuck. The Vanquisher's Seal ruled arenas for a long time, until they, I shit you not, made fists slower than daggers in order to balance it.
Then they introduced Bone Fist, which was also eventually nerfed.
Caestus should be S rank in at least STR or DEX, but it won't happen.

But you can clearly see at the end of the webm where it stops spamming its closing attack and readies its ranged attack, giving a clear opportunity to close and punish.
And despite your feelings, players and NPCs are the only things in souls beholden to stamina limits. Lots of enemies have major downtime but that's all randomized and generally unrelated to previous attack patterns.

The problem with Souls and especially Souls 3 is that attacks barely get telegraphed. And people mix up telegraphing with the lunge animation. Seeing your enemy prepares ana ttack isn't telegraphing, Telepgrahing is the attack animation itself being predictable which it often isn't. Especially Nameless King, he prepares attacks for ages but the attack animation itself is literally faster than lightning, you can't even presst he dudge button fast enough. A long preparation animation isn't helping you at all, it's just saying "he will attack soon... or somewhen."
You literally have to memorize attacks. It's trial and error. You shouldn't need more than five attempts at most, though. Then you know their shitty attacks inside out.
The bigger problem with the gameplay I have is that it's literally always the same throughout the game:

>repeat
No combo potential, no air game/jumping/juggling and clunky.

Also, I don't really fall into the line of thinking that if two equally skilled players face off the one with the crutch weapon wins every time. If you believe that's the case and you also believe that's not a legitimate problem with the weapon I can't help.

Low SL it's actually pretty god tier. If you're about 35 - 50 and +2 it, you can fight some people that'll get rocked and socked if they get caught in the R1>L1 follow up.
The weapon also does wake-up attacks as fast as Caestus, so it's better to roll and attack than try to stand in place.
Plus the Weapon Art is pretty neat.

No, not at all. I was expecting them to walk through the fog so I'd be kicked and find a new world. I really am not an honor dueler, I actually play really gay as an invader to be brutally honest, but I know when people are just "going through the level" and when they want to fight. And the people I'm making an example of definitely wanted to fight and kill me.
