How come, despite all the upcoming indie fighters, there's no 3D fighter aside from Tekken?
I'm sure we'll see a new Soul Calibur eventually.

Because Tekken still plays like a 2D fighter and just uses the 3D elements of it for a few mechanics, like dodging.
We need more full 3D fighters like Gundam and Anarchy Reigns.
Though I still want a new SC or even Bloody Roar.

EXVSFB is all well and good but it's a hassle setting up my PS3 every time.
VF is much more of a 3D fighter than Tekken despite being more "linear".

3D fighting will never be possible because all 3D fighting games have that stupid problem where it is easier to dodge an attack by changing the Z axis you are standing on
I haven't seen 1 game that fixes this, and this is a thing that all the Tekken games have by the way

VF mostly fixes this, since it has attacks that hit side steps at a certain direction, and attacks you can't side step.
