Sounds like Necrons just aren't popular enough. Personally I know nothing about warhammer spacey ships, what do necrons even fly? And wouldn't it be those disgusting Newcrons anyway that were good guys all along?

Could they make it work like they did in Dawn of War? Necron units were powerful as fuck there, but they were slow and took a long time to "awaken".

Necrons were only that good if you didn't play with half the rules.
And even in regular they might be able to beat your fleet, but you could easily win the game becuase of the stupid victory points value their ships have.

If they did anything it would be you had far less ships as Necrons than everyone else. Lore wise Necrons shit on everyone by miles, and have rarely lost a fight.
