If it didn't get a game when it was one of the most popular anime series on the internet then it's hard to see it getting one now. It would be awesome if it did though. The only problem is the setting is a massive, mostly empty desert.

i was one of the lead devs on one of the first HL2 mods, Trigun : escape from pain, it had vash's revolver, his arm cannon, i can't remember what else, three playable characters: vash knives and wolfwood. you can probably find a download of it somewhere but it's not going to be fun unless you have someone to play with. enjoy, anon.

Not OP, but my biggest problem with the movie was the interaction between the characters. For example, when Meryl and Milly is told that Vash is dead, their reaction is so out of place, just poker face and a stone cold reaction with no further explanation.
And from what I read, and gathered up myself the movie occurs somewhere between episodes 9 and 11.

I liked both, but the Manga's a bit better, if definately more odd. Explaining the importance of the Plants was a big thing. Hell, the fact that Knives and Vash aren't exactly unique entities is a huge thing.
Legato... is kinda lamer in the Manga though, but he was always a bishie faggot. Being a butt-slave to a fat old chinese man is just icing on his battered boy-pussy.

Part of what I liked about Trigun was it did the no-kill protagonist pretty much perfectly, at first he keeps miraculously getting away with it without anyone getting hurt like a western superhero, then innocent people start biting it and Vash's refusal to kill starts causing more and more damage to himself, his loved ones and innocent people and eventually he's forced to kill to protect them but it's never really portrayed as a good thing and he still takes down the final antagonist without killing. Kinda rides the line by showing how impractical no-kill is without truly condemning it.
