In DaS1 a lot of the difficulty often came from the terrain, while in 2 most bosses sans a few exceptions were so easy anyway that summoning didn't feel like you missed out on shit.

To be honest there are still a lot of bosses in DaS3 that I specifically didn't summon for, such as Dancer, Abyss Watchers, etc. I also didn't summon at all for Ludwig, Orphan of Kos, Fume Knight, and a chunk of DaS1 bosses.
Ludwig, Fume Knight and Orphan in particular were bosses that I was absolutely determined to beat without summoning at all.It took me 2 hours to beat Ludwig and 2 hours to beat Fume Knight.

Beat the game using Claymore (and Wolf's knight GS), the Greatsword and Sunlight straight sword.
Easiest boss (<= 3 try) Almost all of them (Gundyr, Armour, Deacon and Crystal stage all 1st try, NK 3 try)
Hardest boss : Lord of Cinder (probably more than 15 try) Dancer (I blame the camera for her) Pontiff, Watchers (Dunno, keep getting hit by the delayed flame in his 2nd form, always roll into it, I don't know why).
Protips : There's no hardest boss in any Souls Game, the hardest boss for you always depend on your build, and the type of boss (Humanoid vs monster, aggressive vs passive, Fast attack vs delayed attack etc...)

Nameless kings difficulty arises from the annoying ass dragon battle since it makes it difficult to get a grasp on his timing and his attacks with the three minute buffer inbetween fights.

Nameless King by himself just ends up being a fight where the boss has a lot of attacks that can sometimes string together and sometimes don't. Not hard if you don't overextend yourself.

Old Demon King, Champion Gundyr,, Vordt and Dancer were literally the only bosses in the entire game that didn't have some trial and error bullshit tacked on.

I don't fucking care how hard the game is because beating the game is a matter of course. I miss the emphasis on rewarding careful observation. I miss fiddling with my inventory, hemming and hawing about what items to decide on. I miss just grinding out some mobs because it felt so damn good. I miss going a long, long time without finding a bonfire. Now sometimes there's one encounter between one bonfire and the next and it's an encounter purely design to trick you into dying. Every, and I mean every, time I loot something I can expect an enemy to appear behind me. It's too predictable. Every single pull has the same design: trick the player into leaving his back exposed. Wow, it's fucking nothing. The bosses themselves are mostly fine but they feel empty because getting to them is bland

How can there be such disparity among players, where some say that champion gundyr is the hardest boss, and pontiff is the easiest, and some people say that nameless king is the hardest and gundyr is the easiest?

Luck. The bosses will sometimes attack in such patterns that will fuck you up a lot more than others. For instances Wolnir, which is piss easy, has killed a lot of people when he actually starts using his sword.

I keep seeing people say this but I don't know which attack they're talking about. The only two fire attacks I know of are the forward fire breath where rolling through it immediately let's you get free hits. The other is the one where the bird/dragon flies directly upwards, signalling this specific attack and only this attack, breaths in for about 2 seconds, then spits the fire downward, which takes time to spread and I can't imagine it literally hitting anyone ever considering there are so many tells and so much time to get away. Is there a third fire attack? What does that look like?

I've defeated him four times already yet i still want to fight him more. There's something about this fight that makes it as enjoyable as Ludwig's. His boss soul weapons are godly as well, pretty much the only things i'm using on my dex build now.

I've been wondering if I should do a solo run for every boss. Last time I did that was Demon's Souls and good portion of Dark Souls, but now I'm not sure if I truly have the patience to traverse a portion of the level again just to have another crack at a boss my third time going.I skipped DS2.
