does it support any coins beside bitcoins? They're too expensive and near impossible to acquire in amounts lower than 10ths nowadays.

I'm surprised drugco- bitcoin is still a thing

How can bitcoins be real if we're not real?
>>
>>335821935
robocoin is a data harvesting operation. They need that information to create a bitcoin wallet even on computer. There's no reason to use it, as there are FREE, MORE SECURE wallets that will support a variety of coins instead of SOLELY bitcoin. It's ridiculous.

that's on top of the whole "no place in the world besides some hipster fag places take bitcoins"

on top of that, the stigma has ruined the progression of businesses that were starting to accept bitcoins have stopped with the shutdown and mass PR shit regarding silkroad. It really fucked bitcoin a lot.

>>335822268
no one's saying that, but bitcoins are worthless outside of the internet. For steam games it's actually not a terrible idea, but people keep trying to make them seem like they're going to be a new way to pay for shit in the real world, when it's just too much of a hassle.

I purchased 1 bitcoin when they were about $400
It was more of an investment to sell when it eventually hit $1000 per coin.

Are bitcoins useful for anything other than buying contraband Russian research chemicals?
>>
>>335822643
you missed 1000 a long time ago, and they're gonna just flux around 400-500 from now on. They might spike or valley but it's never going to shoot up to 1000 ever again.

can we create /v/coins?
>>
>>335823380
He was paid with real money actually, because no lawyer worth their salt would dare to jump into a fucking cryptocurrency unless they had a need for it.

If suddenly the world starts accepting bitcoins at a ton of retail stores like mcdonalds and FUCKING GAMESTOP and walmart, we might see bitcoins as a viable currency but as it stands they're a novelty in the real world, and just an alternative, more secure method of paying for a variety of shit online.
>>

>but bitcoins are worthless outside of the internet.
How does this follow? Most currencies and transactions these days are digital. There is very little difference between an all digital system like bitcoin, and the slightly less digital system of credit and debit used by almost everyone today. Hell even a good deal of Africans are using mobile pay apps more than they use physical currency these days. Why is bitcoin somehow "worthless outside of the internet"?
>>
>>335823870
it's ironic you autistic fag
>>
>>335823870
What else would we use /v/coins for? Draw threads?
>>
>>335823873
Because no place accepts it. It's not that it's worthless in value's sake, it's that no place accepts bitcoins because it's an enormous fucking hassle for a business to take a fucking ALTERNATIVE CURRENCY, then have to trade it to a usable one with various fees attached. It's like if you walked into gamestop and they only allowed you to pay in yen. It's the same level of annoyance on both ends of the purchase.

We need quicker, more efficient ways to trade bitcoins, and a more secure way to actually pay with them, instead of having to get someone's wallet, then manually send them the bitcoins. It's time consuming.
>>
>>335823965
dude lets just use meme as a noun lmao!
fuck off

that's what I get for trying to jew out
>>
>>335824105
what are you even saying
>>
>>335823873
Unlike government backed currency, no one is required to service you for bitcoins. And much more would rather not care for them.
>>
>>335824105
A 'meme' is a noun. 'Memetic' is an adjective.

bitcoin story time. i made a youtube video asking for people to donate .01 bitcoins to me like 1000 years ago. in the end i had managed to get 2 whole bitcoins.
instead of saving them i thought "holy shit 1 bitcoin is 100 dollars i better spend these" and bought a shitty little 200 dollar 24 inch tv.

now i'm kicking myself in the ass
>>

I mean I realize it's stupid to look in hind sight, for every one opportunity that pays off like bitcoin a dozen more fail spectacularly. But still, god damn I probably just missed my one shot at getting out of this shitty lifestyle.

It's a way of measuring the price of electricity as it relates to silicon manufacturing with a layer of speculative obfuscation. It's useful as an experiment for understanding the energy economy but it's retardedly inefficient and in no way useful as a traditional currency.
>>
>>335827184
It is a cryptocurrency. Just as value when working is you having done work, this "value" is your massive uber monster of a rig crunching hashes to find the right password and get the next bitcoin.
"muh privacuh" retards love it, as it is anonymous.
