Yeah, getting into Naxxramas was a whole new fucking ball game. I was literally giddy with joy even just being in there, wiping on trash and seeing all those ultra-high level patterns and reagents drop. It meant something even to get there, you were getting rewarded for your decication.
On retail it feels like you're getting a golden star for participating and "seeing" the fights.
Having 3-4 new sets and a forced full gear reset to "equalize'" the field and bring little timmy on par with the raiders also means uncontrollable stat inflation. We went from wotlk numbers to several million HP in legion again.

They had the right idea to drop all the numbers to linear BUT as soon as you hit Draenor it gets exponential again and makes the entire effort for naught. Maybe they feared we'd switched off if we didn't feel like we were really getting souped up again?
