Souls combat got stall after Demon's Souls. Bloodborne was a much needed breath of fresh air that also kept the adventure and atmosphere aspects of the original game that made it so fun.
The three DaS games are still good games. But they are neither the great progenitor of the series nor are they the stylish spin off.

I don't understand the love for Bloodborne. The game is literally Dark Souls with a side step, lax as duck healing, and damage sponge enemies. The game desperately needed normal, not Hot Topic tier weapons to make the hunter tools actually stand out. When every weapon is a transforming abomination of common sense and design, none of it actually feels special.

After DeS, Souls games haven't evolved that much, some changes made aspects of it worse too.
I'm judging a game for all the great things it brings on the table. DeS wins in every possible way, other Souls games just feel lazy in comparison.
