Is it now safe to say that the Wii U was worse than the Wii.
I knew the system was fucked to begin with when only New Super Mario Bros WII U was it's only real launch title.
It failed at delivering a Metroid game. Finally there's news of the next big Zelda game, and it's set to come out on the NX simultaneously with the Wii Version.
There is literally no reason to shell out full price for a Wii U. There never was. What? You're going to pay $250 just to play Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros? Please don't even try to bring up shit like Bayonetta 2 and Splatoon when there are dozens of similar and higher rated games available on the PS4, Xbone, and PC. It doesn't help that the Wii U gets no multi-plats whatsoever because of it's under powered hardware.
I really believe the NX is going to be a colossal failure. Nintendo's days are numbered.

I do agree with Bayonetta though, DMC4SE has much better combat. Hell, I'd also add that the All Stars Transformed is almost as good as MK8.

I got my Wii U to play Bayonetta, Smash Bros and Wonderful 101 and because it offers a gaming experience exclusive to itself with the gamepad deal. I like to support cool, new ideas and I don't need to play the same games again 100 times over with the exact same controls. I'll get a PS4 eventually for Persona and KoF mainly.
Also Splatoon is reason enough to buy a Wii U, it's the most exciting and progressive game of the decade so far, I'd think, and nothing else is remotely like it.

Maybe you'll save money on the console but the games won't drop in price by much. Nintendo games tend to retain their value, or get even more expensive. Good luck getting the Bayonetta 1 + 2 bundle for less than $60 in 2 years.

You buy a console for the games currently available, not for the possible potential. Same goes for people who only bought a wii u for the possibility of new zelda.
Wii U has a lot of good games, i'd argue that excluding multiplatform titles it currently has the strongest library in the console market. Of course, this is going to change as other consoles gets more and more big titles as the Wii U is heading off into the sunset.
It will probably be a few years till the NX has a similar library if it ever does. Still I'd recommend waiting either way for a decent bundle or to see if backward compatibility will be a thing or if the titles you want will be "remastered". There are certainly a lot of games on the wii u worth playing but we don't know if Wii U will be the only way to play them.
