Having a retro 2d team is a good idea. They could research new game ideas and IPs.
Simply go third party and drop out of consoles completely. Make mad money making brand name IPs like Mario, Zelda and Metroid to kids and dudebros.

Congratulations, at around $450 bucks, you now have a second Wii. All the normalfags will want one for the novelty.

A) Indie support. Can't sustain your console without third parties, and whereas AAA market doesn't care much about you, indies are all over le nintendo's 80's~90's nostalgia
B) x86 architecture and ports that are basically zero-effort. That's one of the main reasons PC gets ports of everything nowadays.

I would at least make it clear that, despite shamelessly going the mobile route, proper Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing sequels are still planned.
