This. 3D Land/World's shifting gimmick stages were terrible and the complete lack of any coherency in the worlds and overall atmosphere didn't help.

Because of the multiplayer the levels are too large, empty and devoid of challenge, not to mention short.
Played alone the game is downright embarassing, you play the Plessie stages and wonder what the fuck they were thinking.
Then there are the recycled levels and bosses, horrible visuals, blocks floating in nothing as levels, no theme to connect the setting or even the levels of the same world, and there you have a terrible game.
