Its not really hard to see where they are coming from.
At this point its guaranteed to not be getting any games that release this year and if it somehow manages to sell and get support from 3rd parties(very unlikely because as said the games it would need to sell dont launch in spring) the earliest it will get support is holiday season 2017, so half a year drought.
All points indicate that it is shaping up to be a one man nintendo show and just wii u 2.0 with games now taking 6 years to make instead of 4-5 years.
