Linear games objectively provide the most fun single player experience. They just aren't as replayable.
But that's what the multiplayer is for

its a 3rd person shooter with some grapple points and slightly floaty aiming. have you played a 3rd person shooter? you know how Uncharted plays then.

>cinematic is bad
Only Uncharted and rebooted Tomb Raider games have ever pulled off being truly cinematic during actual gameplay. You want it to be like every other game and not be cinematic? Then fuck you
>>
>>335691626
The gameplay in Uncharted is just ok.
People only play Uncharted for the story, and those who play the multiplayer are just Sonyfags who pretends that it's great.

>>
>>335693774
You have almost complete control; there are just small pauses while the animations play out. You make the main character do things and he is just so naturally lucky and skillful that he always succeeds at whatever he tries (so long as it is humanly possible.)
In some parts you are in such a situation that you only have one option that will not result in death (like jumping over to that jeep in the webm), but that's the nature of a cinematic linear game like this when you're playing the most cinematic parts
>>
>>335694635

>>
>>335688006
It looks like the most polished Uncharted game yet, honestly. Levels aren't too small, shooting is better, and climbing is more natural.

Just concerned about the story.

Uncharted has always been a grab bag of mediocre elements cribbed from other games wrapped around a wannabe-Joss Whedon script.

The first game was sort-of-but-not-really interesting due to the massive leap in graphics and the mechanics it was cribbing being relatively new at the time.

Everything else has been worth precisely nobody's time.

>>
Yeah, I think I'll replay 3. I'd replay 2, but my disc vanished during the move.
>>
Why did they bother? Last of Us was something different and more interesting for Naughty Dog after doing so many Uncharted games, now it's just back to the boring gunplay and uninspired "puzzles."

They shouldn't have wasted their resources. Should have done another original IP, not that Last of Us was as good as everyone said it was, but it was more interesting than most AAA games.
>>
>>335697709
I do get bored of it, but only after playing through it multiple times. Why would I be bored of a game I havent even played once yet?
>>

>>
>>335688006
Have fun playing through this shitpile once and never touching it again. I'm genuinely happy that people like you can find satisfaction and fun in a third-person looker.
>>
>>335697843
Because the mechanics are often very simple and the learning curve is non existant? The last and only assassin's creed game I played had two gameplay elements in combat, left click to kill them, or some other button to break their guard. It got boring after ~15 minutes, but I kept pushing myself to finish the game and it never got better. It was the same with shadow of mordor and it was very similar for Uncharted 3. They're just way too simple to keep anyone who's decent at videogames entertained.
>>
>>335697782
Because Naughty Dog didn't feel like Uncharted 3 was a good enough entry to end the series on. ND considers UC3 not up-to-par with the quality of their other releases and they want to release UC4 as the real finale now
>>
>>335697595
this.

thats what you pcucks dont understand. You watch it on youtube and think "this is a cinematic" but your actually in control like 90% of the game

can't wait to have a statue of handsome old man Drake to stare at in my bedroom
>>
>>335698082
Why do people like rhythm games? Why do people like VNs? Why do people like puzzle games? They all have simple mechanics and not very high learning curves.
>>
>>335697161
to be fair, Drake never mentioned his past almost at all until you see it for yourself in 3
>>
>>335697782
Sony gave them a nice fat check.
>>
>>335692524
I play Uncharted for the fun gameplay and genuine "cinematic" feel and no one can take my enjoyment away from me

also UC2's multiplayer WAS fucking great, and the beta for 4 was pretty fun but I'm worried about this whole "boosters" business
>>
>>335698164
That's like slightly more control than a QTE friendo.

There's 1 (one) correct way to handle the situation (move your stick a little to the right) and you've got no actual input.

The amount of control and thought you have to do is minimal, it's barely a game.
>>
>>335688430
>still fighting about gramphics in TYOOL 2016

for fucks sake guys can't we just have fun with fun video games
>>
I wonder if Crushing mode will return, and how ridiculous it'll be. I beat the three remastered games on that difficulty for the platinum trophies, and they were frustrating as hell but still way more enjoyable than my Normal mode playthroughs, since you respawned instantly.
>>
>>335693774
in Uncharted 3 you could jump off moving trucks, back onto a horse, and on to moving trucks, and you had complete control of it
>>
>>335697595
>>335698164
I don't have a problem with this being cinematic, i have a problem with it being fucking retarded.
>>
>>335697782

>>
>>335698517
I hope they still fuck up and let you use Tweaks because there's no way I'm getting that Platinum trophy if Crushing's around without having a fucking heart attack
>>
>>335688006
Why cant Naughty Dog fucking understand that you dont need to constantly take away control from the player to be "Cinematic" or make it linear as fuck

The graphics are great but it still looks boring as fuck, how are people so easily entertained

God of War 3 understood this perfectly

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzqJswRGc8o
>>
>>335698576
its no less retarded than any of the monkey-like climbing parts of any of the games. The game was never supposed to be realistic
>>
>>335692901

It just looks like a Ubisoft game.
>>
Damn these webms look great. Definitely goty. Cant imagine any game coming close to the title except maybe ff15.
>>
>>335698735
>Why cant Naughty Dog fucking understand that you dont need to constantly take away control from the player
you're actually always in control except for brief pauses during animations (like when jumping through the air or when stealing the jeep & knocking out the driver)
>>
>>335698363
dumb
>>
>>335697161
It's not really his brother. The mission list was leaked and an orphanage level was one. The twist is probably that they are 'blood' brothers who survived together as kids on the streets rather than actual biological brothers.
>>
Can't wait to rent this once and never play it again
>>
>>335698893
thats because the difficulty is set too easy. It's more fun if you don't mark-targets and if enemies take realistically short amount of time to spot you
>>
>>335699259
>The mission list was leaked
what's the mission list?
>>
>>335698245
Rhythm games can have incredibly high skill ceilings, and puzzle games can be significantly complex. VNs have fleshed out stories and characters but they're usually shit. The skill ceiling in cinematic games is nothing short of condescending and the mechanics are as deep as a spoon. The characters are hilariously thin and the contrived plot is usually tailored to a 12 year old audience. There is seriously nothing good in cinematic games unless you are so horribly bad at videogames that you can't grasp the mechanics of more difficult ones.
>>
>>335699259
How is that a twist? It's probably the first thing anyone would think

I actually liked UC3 almost as much as UC2. It gets lots of shit for not being as groundbreaking as UC2 or TLOU because Naughty Dog only put a portion of the original UC2 dev team on UC3, with the rest working on TLOU. But its still a very fun game like UC2 is

the aiming feels a little off
>>
>>335699259
But we already knew Nathan Drake was a fake name he made up in Uncharted 3 and he was an orphan back then.

Of course his brother would not be blood related to him.

Do you get bored of rewatching the same movie every other year or so?

At their best, cinematic games can be a really fun experience.
Uncharted 2 is absolute proof of this.

The problem is that writing standards in video games are generally pretty low, major publishers are incredibly afraid to take high-budget risks, and they unquestionably mechanically regressive as far as interactivity.

They're still fun.
