I'll say for me personally, it is. Only because the atmosphere, aesthetic, and setting of the game is so perfect for me. I actually like Sword and Fantasy type things, so DaS/DeS is definitely a great series, but something about BB really resonated with me much more.

Not really? All the weapon movesets are a lot closer to their DS1 counterparts and the game makes way more references to DS1 than DS2. Gameplay is also more similar to DS1. Maybe in terms of level design it's more similar to DS2 where the player is railroaded more down a linear paths and has more liberal use of bonfires but the areas aren't as atrociously shit as DS2s.

I loved Demon Souls, I played through the game 3 times, and consider it one of my best experiences of last generation.
So here I am playing Bloodborne after waiting for so long. Some times, I feel the game isn't fun, it becomes more of a chore.
For instance, some of the stages are just so stupidly made that you can't even explore them. I literally just ran and collected the items because I couldn't do shit. It's the one where you go into a frenzy as soon as you start walking.
Some of the characters I feel are too powerful for no good reason. The dogs can go to fucking hell. And I am terrified of snakes so the second part of the forbidden woods, I just zoomed through far away from the television.
Then you have a damn boss battle which requires you to chase him and it's annoying especially when it's already a chore just getting to him. The game wouldn't be so annoying if I were outside of the smoke when I died instead of navigating back to the area which could take forever depending on the stage. If I remember correctly, on Demon Souls you would just spawn outside of the smoke if you died.
My goal was to NG as soon as I was doing but I don't even think I'll bother after dealing with the chores that I've been presented as they ruin the game for me at times.

The bosses aren't very good, most of them are just learning gimmicks, the few that aren't are just easy.
And there, the game is just to easy. The structure of the game means that once you get a decent weapon you steamroll through every world and boss that isn't false king Allant.
Atmosphere is pretty good and I love the music, level design is neat but small and too linear.
Don't get me wrong I still liked the game but compared to the other games it just lacks a lot of polish.

Also I feel like the lore in DeS is a little more internallty consistent than DaS'. I always wondered why the fucking currency in DaS was Souls, you'd think it would be humanity or embers or something. In DeS they set up a world where it made some sense.

Dark Souls 3 has the worst PvP in the series however, the build balance is just fucking terrible, especially since they turned poise off. The fact that estus is so quick plus the roll having so many iframes means fights drag out forever.
