Does your stamina affect how heavy of armor you can wear or is it just your vitality because I've already used almost thirty point into vitality and I still can't wear a full suit of lothric knight armor without my roll being slowed down.

Vitality increases your carrying cap and does help you roll better with more armor I've varified this but I've also hear from tons of people that stamina does the same thing as well or makes it so you can carry closer to the max without roll slowage? I've heard people say they stop lving vitality at 20 and I'm assuming it's because that use this method but i can't confirm it and like I said in almost 30 vitality now and still candle even wear lorthric armor which is one of the first armors without slowing my roll down? Endurance = Stamina = More rolling/attacking/running before depletion.

Vitality = Carry Weight = Heavier armor without fucking up your roll so you can play Fashion Souls/Use big weapons. But know this that even with tons of points put into Vit while wearing Havel's and FAP ring you still won't be able to wear a full set of heavy armor without fat rolling regardless of weapon. I'm convinced that even with the maximum possible carry weight that you will still fat roll in Havel's.

You can go up to <70% load while still having a very decent roll. If you kill stray demon you can also craft havels ring. If you beat the two crocodiles you could also get the ring of favor, though it's effect on load is pretty small

You are wrong in this. The cap for fast rolling and fat rolling is 70% weight total. Anything above 70% even if it is 70.01% makes you fat roll. Vitality increases your carry limit, essentially making it so that it takes more weight to hit 70%. There is a ring in the game called Havel's ring which is dropped from a boss which has the effect of increasing your weight limit by 15% meaning you can carry 15% more weight before hitting 70%.

You can stop at any point pham. More vitality means you can carry more weight which means you can wear heavier armors which reduces damage you take even more. Pair that up with heavy tower shield and you got what we call a "tank". To add, equiping weapons in your open hand slots increases your carry weight even if you don't use that weapon. I carry my main weapon, a torch and a pyromancy effigy on my right hand.

Continuing off this: The max possible is 175.5 carry weight (allegedly). 99 Vit plus the rings which are +2.

Exile Set: 42.3 ---- 24% of max
Havel Set: 58.9 ---- 34% of max
Smough Set: 62 ---- 35% of max

If we add in the heaviest of weapon and shield, Fume's and Havel's shield (25 and 28 weight) you can achieve 54%, 63%, and 65% respectively.

So you can wield a greatshield and a heavy 2hander and maintain normal rolling. That is if you want to invest 80+ points into Vit. But none of this matters cause poise doesn't fucking exist.

Heavy big weapons got fucked over in 3 hard. First, cause straight swords do as much damage as large weapons. Second cause there is no poise so any cough knocks you out of attack animation. Third, the strength scaling get diminishing returns in the first play through if you picked it as your main source of damage, used to be you needed to be in NG++ before hitting diminishing returns. Fourth, damage is a much smaller in general compared to past games, you no longer hit for as much as you used to.

I died so many times there. I even told myself I would use something other than the dark sword for that area. But then when those cathedral knights and those dark snake undead were around, I got fed up, put on my dark sword with a chaos orb on the side and breezed to it.

I hate the dark sword for being too fucking good, that it makes everything else a slog to play with. It has range, high attack, a distance poke so you always land hits right after dodging AND hits sanic fast. The last part is super important. Faster hits means easier stun locks on enemies, faster recovery to dodge away from harm and it create this mechanical dead zone where everything that is in front of you will get hurt, a wall of pain, if you will.

I've not started NG+ on any character yet (too busy trying new builds) but heavy weapons can cleave a group of enemies in one hit on NG and hyper armor does exist to help with that. Enemies that don't die in one shot are usually stunned and open to an immediate followup.

However, if you get invaded with no phantom help, god help you with that if they can actually parry. So I will say for now that 2handers are okay when it's PvE but royally fucked on PvP unless you can hyper armor through r1 spamming estocs.

It's reasonably short, has a cool (albeit easy) boss, and the visuals are pretty cool. The toxic swamp also didn't bother me since it's so minor and easy to get around. Snake enemies can be forced to kill each other with alluring skulls which is hilarious and makes the area better.

It's definitely not a highlight but I can't think of anything that makes it bad.

DkS3 area design was my favorite in the series. It's the first Soulsborne entry that doesn't have a single area I disliked/was annoyed by, and each area (bar a small few) felt bigger, more well constructed, and was a lot more fun to explore than half the areas in any previous game. ALL we need is a damn Blue Eye Orb. Give Darkmoons a Blue Eye Orb, and make Blue Sentinels exclusively summon to help against invaders. Then get rid of fucking Way of Blue and give everyone access to a consumable item that allows Blue Sentinels to summon in their world but only while an invader is there. Or just make it a settings open for "Invasion Assist On/Off."

Smouldering Lake was like a fixed version of Lost Izalith and Stonefang. I'm not a big fan of fire themes, but this is one I legitimately enjoyed.

Farron Keep was like a fixed version of Valley of Defilement and Blighttown. Far less bullshit, and I thought it was a lot more interesting. A bit bland in the actual layout, but only because it's literally just a big circle like Valley was.

Deacons were like a fixed Rat Vanguard. Same thing, but this time we got several different kinds of mobs, you had to switch targets periodically, and if you're not aggressive enough they'll insta-kill you with curse. For an early boss it was fun. Just... don't fight it after Farron Keep or you'll be so OP they won't get to do anything.

For my actual breakdown...

Untended Graves, only because it's LITERALLY a repeat. Still has a great boss, at least.

Wyvern, it's the only boss I consider bad. Vordt is probably the most 'meh', and Yhorm would be bad if the Stormruler gimmick wasn't fun and the boss room wasn't so epic.

Chain-Axe Snakemen... especially since they don't even fucking drop the damn thing. Jailers suck ass until you realize their life drain cannot kill you.

I'm a huge fan of crustaceans, so I have to give it to the giant crabs. They're a hell of a lot of fun to fight, though, and them LITERALLY just being a giant crab is hilarious. And since they're assholes who kill the little crabs, I don't feel bad for murdering the shit out of them.

I think Dark Souls 3 is a good game, and with some balance patches and dlc it'll be even better
It's just that I'm tired of the formula
After multiple playthroughs of demons souls, dark souls, dark souls 2, Bloodborne... it's a good thing Miyazaki is focusing on something new.

Also Bloodborne really pushed the gameplay forward with its speed, trick weapons, and rallying. DaS3 is just more of the same but now with semi-useless weapon arts.

Usually when I play a souls game I'm eager to make a new character after beating the game, but I have zero desire to start a new character on this one which is a shame.

Derivative Souls in a nutshell:

Tutorial area - Bland.

Firelink Shrine - Direct Dark 1 reference.

High wall - Undead Burgh again.

Undead Settlement - Feels like Bloodborne leftovers.

Road of sacrifices - A bland road and a crab marsh with no surprises.

Cathedral - A new place with unique mechanics (maggots / running past giant) it's a genuinely good area.

Farron Keep - Valley of Defilement 4.0 someone smack Miyazaki already.

Catacombs of Carthus - Dark Souls 1 catacombs again now with Sens fortress boulder and dart traps.

Smouldering Lake - Ash lake and Lost Izalith smashed together just replace the hydra shooting at you with a ballista.

Irathyll - Welcome to Yharnam enjoy your beast on the bridge if you didn't get the reference.

Dungeon - Tower of Latria again.

Profaned Capital - A Dark Souls 2 tier area, it's linear path to the boss unless you want to dive in another toxic swamp.

Anor Londo - Direct reference complete with archers.

Lothric Castle - It's another castle and there's no new enemies or mechanics here at all.

Garden - It's an alleyway with some toxin pools and recycled enemies, the second Dark Souls 2 tier area.

Untended Graves - Tutorial and firelink copy paste From just changed the ambient lighting.

Archives - It has unique mechanics, a boss that flees from you through the level and new enemies. The second good new area.

Archdragon Peak - Dragon Aerie again. Boss arena is cool though.

Kiln of the first flame - Same name but none of the same visual majesty, it's just firelink again leading up a hill to the boss.

These areas might have better level design than old games but it won't make them feel any less played out.

What are you on about? It is the first game in which choosing a 2 handed weapon instead of a straight sword matters a lot in the PvE game. Also it is the first Souls in which magic isn't overpowered until late areas.

If you look at the polls about the difficulty on bosses, people didn't encounter the same problems depending on the build. The replay value is actually huge. Just choosing to do early Lothric instead of post catacombs can change completely how you playthrough will look.

I bet you haven't tried other playthroughs yet, dealing with the casting time for sorcerers is a chore, but that's what makes it even more enjoyable. It has nothing in common with a melee build.

It's like, I go from having a kirkhammer and tentacle arms to an iron sword again.
I normally roll a sorcerer for my second playthrough, and I tried but it really sucked. It's very slow, damage isn't worth it, and it drains a shitload of stamina for some reason.

I plan to come back for a complete 100% playthrough when magic hopefully gets a buff.
I do gotta give the game props for being pretty solid at launch though. Bloodborne was horrendous at launch.

It honestly should have been the case since the first game. Magic was alway OP because you had damage + security distance. There was absolutely no point to play magic if not to roll on the game. Now sorcerers also have to get good to reach the end.

I haven't played a magic build yet, but I think they went too far in some places. For example I'm rolling a faith build, at 25 faith, and a +5 chime with A scaling. My lightning spear, that takes 25% of my mana, only does about 90 damage, takes half my stamina, and leaves me wide open. What the fuck where they thinking? A fucking unupgraded light crossbow with wood bolts does more damage, and it's the same thing essentially. Hell it might be even better, since it doesn't take mp, and I can aim it.

I've heard Faith builds are currently fucked for offensive damage. I've recently started a Pyromancer and with a +4 Pyromancy Flame and like 18INT my Fire Orb does well over 200 damage to most enemies and only takes about a tenth of my focus.

Sorcery seems to be powerful based on what I've seen from other players, but I haven't done it myself yet.

After you beat dragonslayer armour you can't get into the archives and you can go through the garden to not firelink but that's a very short journey.
Otherwise the only time you can branch off is deciding to do cathedral before farron keep or after the catacombs and whether you bother to go into the smouldering lake or not.

They only need balancing in the scaling part. Like at 50-60 faith, lightning spears start doing 800 damage, great lightning spears do like 1000, and sunlight spear does like 1500. The thing is that they scale like SHIT up until 40 faith, then decent for 40-50, and fucking amazing for 50-60. Like just rework how scaling works, not just increase the damage.

Pyro is decent I think. at 21 int and 15 fa, my +8 flame was doing 400-500 with great chaos orb.

The only thing that annoyed me about DS2 was that there was no way to know that Licia was the specific NPC who unlocked the path to Huntsman's Copse. And you had to exhaust her dialogue too, when most people would see that she sold miracles and promptly fuck off.

I don't know what it is about DS3, but I just don't have that same magical feeling I had with 1 and even parts of 2. It looks the best out of them, technically plays and feels better than both, and had some cool areas, but it feels hollow to me for some reason. Am I just tired of the formula? This is the first game in the series that I really have no real drive to keep playing after beating, when I played 1 and 2 both about 3x each upon release. On a happier note, Lorian's set is probably my favorite from all 3 games. Fashion in this one is nice.

Yeah, the areas were cool, but I more meant that you get the Ashen Mist Heart, which tells you to 'enter memories' or some shit, and gives you no indication that the trees were what you are looking for, considering that you could easily miss one, another wasn't available until you had the King's Ring, and the last was after you beat the Pursuer, which was an optional boss since you can get to the Bastille through No-Mans Wharf.
