See, the ending where you summon the Fire Keeper means that she's going to extinguish the First Flame, and hope that it spontaneously arises again at some point in the future. (If I'm reading this right.)
The ending literally has the world fading out into pitch-blackness, forever, and the Fire Keeper asking if you can still hear her voice. Which means that it's just the two of you in a world that has been fucked beyond belief.
In the ending where you kill the Firekeeper, you're basically going "Nah, fuck that! I want to live!" The world is still doomed, but you're likely be the only guy to survive it and spend an eternity fighting the ass-raping monsters that come out of the Dark.
That's why the narrator sounds so angry at you in that ending. You pussied out of the world-saving suicide pact to save yourself.
