I still died 3 times, which is pretty low compared to every other boss so far. The only bosses I've had an easier time with were the deacons of the deep and oceiros (both on the first try). I didn't have much trouble with the dancer or aldrich (about 5 deaths each) but took like six hours to beat the abyss watchers.
I guess luck can be a part of it. Sometimes the fight goes great, others you just die like a bitch in seconds. Your play style might make it harder as well
