it's a good starting point, not really difficult compared to any of the other games in the series but it'll help ease your way into the other games
This one's also a good entry, original or 3DS enhanced port.
it was my first and i've moved onto other entries since. it's probably the best gateway game in the series. go for it
That and SMT I where you just fly through battles once you get bullets that exploit weaknesses.

you make it sound like that's standard, smt 1 and 2 are easy, 3 is a bit harder than 4 but not by much. Honestly SJ is the only one that had some hard shit, looking at you ooroborus

It works well, just know that the start of the game in particular is the hardest part of the game, so it might seem a bit overwhelming at first.
But, as long as you exploit enemy weaknesses (being a magic main character helps a lot with that), save often, and don't feel like you have to do every sidequest immediately, it's pretty easy to get into.
The music and setting is great too.
