The NEO is good for gaming. It will give us more resolution , work better for vr and give us better games. If you thought photorealism was far off, wait until you see the 4k . it's specs alone are powerhouse standard. If you want 60fps, Sony brings it with ps4k.
What can we do to help Sony ?
Well, for starters if you don't have a 4k TV, that's a must if you want to take full advantage of neos capabilities. Without it, you just won't see the crystal clear photorealistic graphics that the PS NEO offers. Another way you can help, is by spreading the word to your friends and family. Sony has developed a "good guy" reputation, I'm sure just mentioning PlayStation will make their ears prop up. You can make lists of all the upcoming games and post them on Facebook. Don't forget to mention how we are the good guys and not the bad guys that are apathetically trying to kill gaming.

I'm taking the bait, but if gaming is going to survive, its going to be because of PC.
More and more people are moving towards the cheaper hardware of PC, the cheaper prices of games, and the better community as well. Consoles are only holding back gaming by making it so developers have to downgrade visuals and filling them with more and more flaws. Once phones and PC become more relevant, consoles will be outdated and die off.

The segment of the PC market using the highest end cards is not the majority, or anywhere close to it. The overwhelming majority of revenue and profit is coming from the console space -- not PC.
Time and money are the biggest things holding back gaming and the incessant whining from PC players about the tiniest graphical details are what set the industry down that path in the first place.

I never said PC was at the top, I said it was rising.
And since prebuilding and custom building are becoming popular, then yes, in a few years PC will be the top market.
The only active, relevant console at this moment is the PS4.

And that is only because of Sony's iron grip on Japanese developers. Even if the Japanese console market is in the shitter, every major Japanese developer makes games for the PS4, and Sony can even buy support if need be. Most Japanese developers wouldn't touch the Wii U, much less Xbox and Windows.

Assuming the Neo is real, when can we expect to see it? Is Sony crazy enough to release it in the same year as PSVR?
i'm waiting for this shit to be confirmed. Which probably won't happen till e3. Anything I hear till then i'm taking as bullshit. It just doesn't seem likely, really. All rumors i've heard have just be total bullshit tier. Why would they shoot themselves in the foot with a fucking $1000 variant of their console?
Especially when it's obvious development time and research has gone into the PSVR, there's almost 0 chance of any substantial revision to exist. My bet is just that it's a slim model with 4k video output capabilities for movies, since blurays are starting to have 4k compatibility.
